Hi, as if you have an S320 cdi, so do I, amazing cars...

In my UK Z when the sidelights are on the headlight bulb is on very dim as a sidelight, then goes brighter when the headlights are switched on. So, if i install a hid kit what will happen when i switch the sidelights on? Will the hid kit try to light up dim? What can be done to rectify this problem as i dont want to cause damage and I want xenons Thanks guys, Dan

I have a custom stainless steel decat exhaust system on my twin turbo Z. I have now decided that i want the car to be even louder... the car has two small silencers just before the tips. Is it ok to remove these? Will it cause damage to the turbos? A lack in back pressure? Any more information too would be great, thanks, Dan

Also, if i replace my headlights with xenons what will happen when i switch just the sidelights on? Will the xenon bulbs try to come on dimly? If so, will this cause damage?

Why when i read different reviews in different books and magazines they all seem to have contradictory information as regards the the performance figures of the 300zx...some say they have 276bhp and some say 300bhp, some say 0-60 is 5.6 and others say 5.2 some say a top speed of 149 and others 156... whats this all about?

Hi, my electric arial failed on my car and dosnt go up or down. I bought a replacement from my local car audio place and installed it following the instructions but was told not to power one of the cables using the remote wire on my subwoofer as it would burn the motor out on the aerial. I ignored this advice and it worked fine for two or three months. However, it has now too failed. Originally i tried to power the new aerial from the power supply to the old aerial (cars factory wiring loom) but it didnt seem compatibale. My question is... If I replace the aerial with a direct replacement from the Nissan main dealer will it work with the original connections, or are the replacement power aerials the same as factory ones meaning something is wrong with the power cable and not the actual aftermarket aerial itself? You have got to remember we are all hard core petrol heads thats why we come on this forum, run these old expensive cars, tax and insure them. But for people that are only fasion conscious i think a diesel z would appeal to them You have only got to look how many e46 BMW 320d convertibles and diesel a4 convertibles are about. Who in their right mind would buy a drivers car with a diesel engine...? But the fact remains, there is a high percentage of people that do. And just because we say they are dirty, sound crap and are totally uncool British people still love them. And I would say a very high percentage of diesel Z`s would sell compared to a petrol counterpart, even though I would never consider a diesel Z! I think Nissan would improve the success of the Z car greatly!

Fact is though that diesels are becoming more popular, and my idea was that maybe a diesel dhould be put into the new Z purely to make it even more of a success for Nissan, a bit like BMW did with the Mini and Audi did with the TT...

No, i agree totally about diesels, but am saying if Nissan gave people the otion of having a diesel powered Z I am convinced it would boost the success of the Z car no end...

I think it should have a high revving v8 like the new ///M3 because they sound the absoloute b******s. But to make the Z a succesfull car for Nissan it should have the option of a diesel engine, preferably a six pot though...just my opinion

Once cleaned would something like wd40 help to repell the dirt and rain water to prevent them sticking in the future? Or is spraying them with oil a bad idea?

My understanding is that the UK zeds have a different headlight setup to the Japanese ones. When i flash my mains the dipped headlights go out...... Am I ok to install a hid kit so the setup remains the same i.e when the main beams are on/flashed the dipped (xenons) go out...? Cheers guys

I have two dump valves fitted to my zed (i know theyre not to everyones taste), when i first fitted them they were really loud, then they started to quieten down a bit only being loud when the weather was dry but cold. And now, since i have had a decat exhaust fitted they carnt be heard at all.... whats causing this? Are the valves crap? Or can i make them noisey again by doing something else to the car? Ages ago i remember watching a film whilst on holiday in Canada about a young black fella that borrows his mums 300zx, if i remember correctly it was a good comedy film and think the car was red, but i was only small when i watched this lol, also i think he smashed it up or something like that... does anybody know what im on about...?
