Carputer installings
Taken me 4 days so far to get the screen bezel sorted. 8" wide touchscreen. Fiddly to fit compared to a 7inch? - ended up removing a lot of the dash molding by where the clock sits with a dremel so it'll sit in nicely. I extended the hole at the bottom back by an inch and a half, to make the screen more vertical. Will post more pics tomorrow!

Tutorial - Servicing the heater blower fan
Heres a little guide whilst I serviced mine. I was trying to locate a rattle noise that has been annoying me for the past few weeks, this was like a ticking noise behind the glove-box only with the fan on low speed and as the car was pulling away in low gear. 1: Remove glove-box so you can see more, also remove the plastic trim that is underneath the glove box. You might not need to do this to get the motor out but i did it anyway. 2: You'll be able to see the blower fan housing on the left. look underneath to fine the motor part which is held on with 3 screws. Disconnect the harness plug and also there is a little black ribbed tube. Mine had a rubber molded cover over the base of the motor too. Undo screws and drop it out. 3: My fan assembly was black with grime, several leaves and the motor housing that is exposed in the housing was rusty. Nice to think this shit is coming out the vents :) So one 10mm nut off the top of the fan molding and you can pull the blower of the motor spindle. Gave it a good scrub. 4: On the bottom of the motor there are two screws, whip em out and then gently squeeze the two rubber blocks on the side and pull gently. Do not yank it because the wires will get ripped off the graphite bushes! You have to wiggle out the harness socket too. This is what you will have: End cap Contact assembly: Main motor housing: Inside you'll see the motor spindle - pull this out keeping an eye out for and spacing washers (very important these go back the same way). Inside mine it was black with copper and graphite dust. Enough to make several pencils! Clean it thoroughly out with meths. Remove any rust and protect etc. 5: If you look closely now it's all clean you can see brass sleeves where the motor spindle sits at either end. Inside is a felt like washer thing which is designed to retain oil! I let some 3in1 soak into it for an hour. 6: The motor core: Clean this up again with meths. Don't remove what looks like chewing gum stuck on it as these are balance weights. What you need to do is smooth the copper contact on the left in the picture. You can see how much they have worn down. If you have access to a lathe stick it in and gently get a file on there as it spins. Use your judgement - if yours is very worn and there is a deep grove it's best to just leave it. When this is done use the blunt edge of a stanley blade to scribe out the gaps between each copper segment. Before: After: Clean it all up to remove and copper swarf and reassemble & reinstall into the zed. With any luck the heater blower should now be free of any vibrations! Oh yeah vacumn the inside of the housing under the glovebox too!

Heavily modded Z - sky blue on the Feeder in Bristol?
Saw it for the past few days parked outside one of the garage's on the Feeder. Looks like a custom paint job, sky blue colour. MR2 style tailgate and lambo lights? Didn't realize it was a Zed until today as cars were infront before blocking my rear mirror view!

front wings - one side way hotter than the other
Yes & no. When I first noticed i'd had the aircon on for about 1 hour. But same thing the past few days with no aircon at all. Basically you know when you open the door and there's a gush of heat on your legs when you swing them out? Well that is gone lol

front wings - one side way hotter than the other
Only a few days ago i noticed that my drivers side wing was suddenly a lot cooler to the touch than before. After a hard run the nearside is nice and toasty (like always) but now the offside is not. It was pretty even before. I don't think performance has dropped at all or there is any boost leak. All the turbo pipes on both sides are pretty evenly hot using a temp probe on the metal sections. So I would assume the turbos are working evenly. Any ideas? Somethings changed so something is going on under the hood maybe? ta, dub ---

Anyone know my Zed?
Hello all :) Bought it nearly 5 weeks ago from a guy in Melksham. It's a 96TT zed imported in 99 and garaged by the last two owners. The guy I got it from joined this very forum and popped the 300zx.co.uk stickers in the rear quarter windows. Has a personal plate on it that starts 'TIL xxxx'. Wondered if any of ya knew it? Needs a few things sorting out some of which I have done (all the roof & door seals), got a pcv valve kit from coz too. Black paint on the front bumper is blistering slightly but easy enough for me to sort out.
