  1. Laughed MAO. Same as chopping chillis and stopping for a leak...............:hyper::hyper::hyper: Kerosene is an easy way to deal with the black sticky sh*t. Tony from Oz
  2. I've got one. Had it for a while now but have not got round to building it yet. That one's a bit dear I think I paid about $200 (US) for it Tony:cool:
  3. What did you clean the plastic with, just thinners as well? Tony from Oz:cool:
  4. Am planning on doing the tail lights as 99 spec, also using LEDs. Lot of sodlering me thinks....
  5. From the man that sells plastic...LOL No really I took in one of the original lens and had him make it in clear. Cost a bloody fortune though Tony
  6. Hi guys, thought I would share my efforts and get your opinions on the clear third brake light. I saw a guy talking about it on the Amercian site and I thought I would give it a go. This is a prototype but it works and I'll leave it on the car for now. I plan on using different LEDs in the final one. Old New New - brakes on Let me know what you think. I think it suits the silver Zed but maybe not dark coloured ones. Tony from Oz

  8. You will have a lot more success if the leatherette is warm. Don't know how cold it is over there at the moment but trying heating it with heat gun or a hairdryer. Tony
  9. I used Selleys Quick Grip which I diluted with thinners and sprayed it on. Read the thread above. Tony from Oz
  10. Ed, here is a http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=270375&highlight=tweed+is+gone to my efforts at recovering the tweed. Definately remove the tweed first and I used a wire brush on a drill to remove the old glue, also roughs up the surface a bit to get better adhesion. You need the solvent type contact adhesive - or rather should I say the upholstery needs it not you! I covered mine in micro suede [/img] [/img] Tony from Oz
  11. Just re cover it. I did with suede and it came out fine Tony from Oz
  12. Try here http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&langpair=ja%7Cen&u=http://www.z32-zone.com/original_parts/2din_install_fram.htm
  13. I had the same problem and after checking all the possibilities I simply cut the wire to the solenoid which holds the key in. Have never had any more problems since. Only thing is you can get the key out without it being in Park, so be careful Tony from Oz
  14. Like these more pics on Z Centre site [/img]
  15. Obviously they are very popular in the UK as well????
  16. Hey DJ, you have the front wheels on the wrong way round. You'll have these people from the motherland thinking that we colonials are a bit strange! Tony from Oz :nono:
  17. Was looking at the fibreglass headlights fromn the Z Centre. Has anyone used these and if so are they well made etc and do they give out a decent light? Cheers Tony in Oz
  18. I replaced my selector light with an LED. It takes the same LED that you use on the dash, not the ones that you need to solder a resistor on but the bigger ones that unscrew. Tony from Oz
  19. I used flat top LEDs which I purchased from eBay (hong Kong) here i have bought quite a few LEDs from that supplier and found him pretty good. One change I made to the post for getting the LED down behind the wiper icon, I used shrink wrap on each leg of the LED, then another layer over boith legs rather than electrical tape. I also soldered an extension on the leg to get the length required and to give it more strength. Fiddly but worth it IMO Cheers from Oz Tony
  20. To get the light behind the wiper icon you need to have a look at this post here from the Australian site. I have done mine and they work fine. Here is a pick from the site whcih shows how it comes out Tony
  21. I used Brasso and a polishing buff on a Dremel and it came up like brand new. Have to keep the Brasso on and keep it wet. Tony
  22. You might like to have a look at these in Hong Kong. I bought a pair but as yey have not had time to mate them to the original mirrors. 23. Perhaps a diet change could ahve some colour effect!!!!
  24. Andy although your post was about as long as it could possibly be, I went and found some Autoglym here in Australia and tried it and just as you said it done the trick. I did however not use mine or anyone else's underpants to apply it so I hope it still lasts!!! Thanks for the tip and I have put your link on the Australian 300zx web site. Cheers from Oz Tony
