thanks guys. what i was thinking was something like charcoal bolster with silver/dove grey centre, with silver/dove grey door cards/other panels, although dove grey may be a little too dark and not look the right shade for the car.

thats only if the wires thats joined, are the correct cuts. as you know, they are all black.

if its just the gasket has gone, then the rings ect dont need replacing. you can never rely on what people tell you when it comes to selling their car though. where did you buy it from ? ebay.

if youve traced the loom back from alarm unit and found fuse holders thats part of the loom, then they are them. one fuse should be the main live, other could be indicator power or door locking fuse. just remove both, then put them back in. however, there maybe some more further along the loom. try behind the drivers kick panel.

ok. as has already been said then, you need to find the fuse. first place i would look is behind the drivers side under dash panel. or if you can find the alarm box, just follow the loom.

but have you tried it again ?

dissconnect the battery for a few minutes, then reconnect. it could have spiked the alarm.

my wife is bloody useless with colours, so could be grey :rant:. was actually in lancaster town centre she saw it. she insists it was silver though.
