How much for a Z32?
Hi, Well I seem to have upset people with the forum inflated prices comment, which wasn't meant to be offensive. What I meant was I think my car is worth £3500, but in reality no one will pay that and if I get £3000 I would have done well, so I didn't want people saying "Yer £8k for a reasonable one mate" when really you could get one for £5k, even though everyone knows they are really worth more but its just the state of the market, theres plenty about etc... see what I'm saying? I totally agree a forum like this is the best place to buy one, a) I could check previous posts to see whats happened to the car b) the owner is clearly an enthusiast and not a muppet so it should have received better care and c) people know eachother and know a good car etc etc, but often you might pay quite a premium for this and I expect if I looked hard enough I could find a good example elsewhere for less, then again cars come up on here at good prices to go to a good home or for quick sale. Not having a dig, all opinions are appreciated.

How much for a Z32?
No no no no :D That's still the long term plan, but I'm fed up with my current car and I would like something better (although older) and was considering either getting the 240z now and making it my daily drive or better yet getting a different classic, but then I thought I really fancy a Z32 so it's all a bit confused. Anyway I thought I would ask how much people thought you could get a reasonable car for, and all of a sudden people start getting upset? Ah well thanks for your help some of you :D Around £5k we think...

How much for a Z32?
Ok I don't think I made myself very clear :D I don't mind some trouble and nothing is a certainty but I dont want a car on its way out is what I meant :) Something with a bit of life left in it thats not shagged out like a lot of the cars on Autotrader are I bet. James: What I meant was people here might say £8k whereas a perfectly good example can be found for £5k. Oh well.

How much for a Z32?
Hello, I am looking for an unmolested Z32 TT, auto, UK car, nice colour, leather and full electrics. I don't want massive mileage but more important is a car that will run for 12-24months without any problems. How much can I expect to pay? Not forum driver inflated prices (I know what it's like, everyone here and on any drivers forum will think their cars are worth more than they are, the same goes for me :) ) but prices I can expect to pay for a tidy example from a trader forecourt or possibly an enthusiast. I want a Z32 but I don't want it off the road for a year because I can't afford new turbos or something has gone hideously wrong :) Thanks for your time Russ - Zclub

Young(er) person insurance
Thanks for the help guys :) I've listed em all now and will do lots of ringing around tomorrow, then will let you know how I got on (wish me luck!). I'm gonna try to get rid of the 306 asap then as theres a lovely 300zx up and they are coming down in price. £4000 with 50k on the clock etc. Probably will go for a UK 2+2 manual as it seems the best option. I can always remove the rear seats :P Cheers and lets hope tomorrow goes well, after which it might be off to the bank for a loan to get things rolling quicker :P

Young(er) person insurance
Hi, Thanks for your reply. 20% you say, import is out the window then. My dad is egging me to get the swb but I don't know. Still undecided on manual/auto, driven autos and it's so relaxing specially in Bournemouth traffic but I'm worried when I get it out on the open road I'll be thinking "Wish I'd bought a manual". I see what your saying about the danger eliment. I've got my motorbike licence so my awareness is quite good and I'm gonna fit traction control because I have little rwd experience (apart from an old Senator). I've gotten over the going fast and scaring myself bit, I have a motorbike for that and eventually my V8 240z, the extra performance is mainly to help with shifting the amount of junk I take to and from uni and to cut down on danger time when overtaking. I'm fed up of having to take run ups :D I think I'll get around £3k for my pug so maybe £5k or a bit more if its worth it. I got an online quote for £1100 with Liverpool Victoria so irl thats prolly £1500 which I can live with (fully comp), that's if they don't want me to wait till I'm 21 (ANOTHER YEAR ARGH!). If I can get a quote thats sensible my current broker will probably try to beat it so... I'm still not sure I might be better off paying through the nose and getting a swb :) I'll go try Direct Line, Tescos and Privilege cheers :)

Young(er) person insurance
OK I know your gonna scream mental some of you but... 20, drive a 306, 3 years NCB, at the moment with my insurer that's worth 70%. I'm looking for someone to insure me on a 300zx TT, I'd love a swb but I don't think that'll happen. Anyone have any good experiences please? I will fit traction control :D Cheers Russ

Oooh Errrr!
I've been wanting a 300zx now for ages and have planned one for April 2004 (don't ask), but now seeing as most people seem to think that SWF is magic I'm not so sure :p Just keep an eye on number 00 ;)

Feck. Smashed me Zed up
Hi, When I smashed up the front of my 306 my car was a bit fooked so I got all the bits, swapped em and 10 mins of driving the bonnet opened and did my roof and shit in, I was gutted. Anyway from these two incidents my 306 got modded and came back looking pretty sweet, it was definately better for the crash. Point is at the time I know it's gutting but no one was hurt and your car will be all the nicer for it, almost a blessing in disguise. Take it easy, I'm scared now, gonna fit traction control soon as I get the car.

Redline mag Z feature
Tony: you tear the pics out together and bin them? If your not careful he might end up putting in the rough? Get him buying CCC, quality mag, not enough Zs of course but not a trashy mag. I think the club needs a Z to challenge that Supra too :)

What is the second rad thingy!!!!!!!!
From what I read/have been told the gas inside a air con system is quite poisonous! Be careful.

Trade plates
I know this is no help but your Z looks stunning :D

Anyone Seen?????
The Cossie has the Supras on the corners, the Supra has the Cossie on the straights, both have their strengths (or weaknesses depening on how you look at it). Good vids though :)

Redline mag Z feature
Well off topic I know but 19s, what's the optimum size of wheels when it comes to performance? 18s? 17s? How does it drive with 19s? My 306 had 17s and would have been better with 16s so I was just wondering. Gonna pop out and buy the mag, see ya :D

Rear Spoiler "skin"
Very nice Jaffa, what exhausts are those may I ask. And sorry I'm a bit of a 300zx newb but what part is the '99 perspex cover please? Cheers

Selling My Z
Check out real steel or reel steel, something like that. Uk Chevy/Ford/Mopar etc engine people. They do a GT40 spec engine from Ford that would be just the job :) Where can you find these kits? I was gonna do a Datsun 240z V8 but this is tempting also :) Any websites would be useful. Cheers

Rear Spoiler "skin"
I too like the looks but I am a bit worried that without any spoiler the lack of downforce may mess up the drive? Any ideas anyone?
