  2. going to subscribe mate! been meaning to 4 a while! i been down and cranked her over again still not firing and doesnt even sound like its attempting to but no fan cutting in so i swapped back to the chip that got the car down there and still nothing and now im sure the fuel pump isnt even priming! also i realised i had been using a magnatised screwdriver to prize the chips out :xxx: im guessin i've totallly screwed sumthin up :wack:

  4. am quite sure it did, or it may have been when i fitted the chip that wont let me run boost, al check when i get a sec as the car is stuck outside my new house and im at my mothers, i let the gf get on with the decorating while i fiddled with the car swapping the chips back over now it wont start so its stuck there :slap:
  5. i just been out in my auto tt coz my manual has took a huff with me for opening its brain and refuses to start and i set my brake pads on fire then got stuck in traffic jam now i got a sore throat :cry:
  6. didnt know this! so they could actually be hks? are there any markings/numbers i could look for? all i have seen so far is garret written on the back of the compressor housing
  7. yea i put it in with the little dimple at the end indicated on the circuit board, av left the battery disconnected for a bit, a need to go over the hospital to see me dad then i will re-connect it when i get back and try startin her again
  8. cant get a pic up at the minute but the chip i got the car with looks like the rest of them with "japan" written on it like the other chips in there with a funny mark like an O with an + through it and it has a gold sticker on it, the chip i bought off ebay from a member on here i fitted and the car would misfire as soon the car came onto boost so i took it back out and fitted the chip the car came with now it wont even start :cry: a can hear the pump prime but when u crank it over it doesnt attempt to fire
  9. need one a.s.a.p! :cry: ! how much posted to newcastle? :D mods are: hks induction kit hks evc1 hks turbo timer hks bov's 3" exhaust from turbos back uprated smic's not wanting to slate anybody but was told by previous owner that car had hks turbos on but when i checked they have garret written on them and i thought hks made their own? was told they could have hks internals by local tuner but he also told me he was 99% certain the car wasnt chipped even though it has the socket soldered in to accept the chips, am no expert but isnt that correct?
  10. well i took the "mines based" chip back out this mornin and put the chip back in that the car came with now it doesnt even start!!! i can hear the fuel pump prime so it must be gettin a spark? one of the end pins on the chip was bent quite badly when i removed it and when i straightened them all back up before i refitted it i noticed a slight split in it but it was still firm so i fitted it could it be to do with this?
  11. aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i put the original chip back in that the car came with now it wont even start!!!! cranks over and i can hear the fuel pump prime so am guessin that now its not gettin a spark, one of the little legs on the chip was bent quite badly when i first removed it and when i straightened it up i noticed it was split slightly so am guessin its to do with this?

  13. cleaned the ecu sender and still cant run boost, i bought a chip off ebay from a member of this site and fitted it yesterday and im startin to think the chips actually for a NA coz as soon as it comes onto boost it misfires but before i fitted this i could run 10psi before the car got grumpy wiv me, think al change the chip back to the one i had in and take it from there

  15. sounds like this is the problem, i removed what was left of the bung and the rubber has perished with age and the ends blown out, not sure where am goin 2 find a new 1, al have a scope around d.i.y. places etc tomorrow
  16. started her up and let her warm up a bit, cant see any black smoke when i blip the throttle anymore but it could just be coz its dark,I'll take it up the road once am cleaned up to see how she's drivin, how do i clean the CAS and should i mark it before takin it to make sure it goes back in the same place?
  17. sry if its a stoooooopid question but what does CAS stand for? cold air somethin? i checked that connector and it was a bit corroded so av cleaned it up best a can in streetlight and used an electrical equipment cleaning spray on it just waitin for it to evaporate then al connect it back up and start her up

  19. i ordered a fair few bits a couple of years ago after my mum borrowed me NA z to put the lottery on while i was in hospital after an operation on me ankle to remove a metal plate and 5 screws that had been put there after i had shattered my ankle, she opened the door without looking and DOH! rover 400 had a large door shaped dent in the front of it, the insurance company were going to write it off buit i said if they bought second hand parts and payed for painting i would fit them so the car got a 99spec front bumper, door, a wing and a full respray! all parts were fitted by me outside the house complete with cast on me leg with a chopped up old trainer stuck to the bottom of it, the neighbors think im a headcase lol then a month or two later i was back in hospital after writting it off and insurance company were only going to give me £600 for a 1989 import with 60k on the clock until z center got in touch wiv them for me and I got about £2800, actually come to think of it it may have been zedworld actually! cant remember

  21. was thinkin about cutting those outer covers off to check them but they must be somekind of brace to stop them over expanding methinks? yea i can get the bov's to work, the only thing i can really find is either side of the car at the front next to the intercoolers are a couple of parts am guessing are what were the re-circs as they have been blocked off with end cap type thingys but one side has blown its end off (oo-er! :p ) I've tried putting my hand over while the cars running but cant feel any vacuum or owt but i can test it on boost as the gf is round her bro's, the little vacuum hose at the top of it has been blocked off but could the re-circ be leaking when the car comes on to boost?
