I'm fairly well know for typing words like don;t and can;t with the ; key but when I type things like "I'm" I get it right every time. I've no idea what the problem is but it can;t keep happening to me as it's getting a pain in the arse and I don;t want it to carry on.

These engines have timing chains, with that millege I would want to make sure it's been done. Also check for lumpy idle once warm, diagnostics on a beema is a pain especially when you are trying to figure out the reason for the idle issues. I've had this problem on the Wifes Z3 BMW and also on my E39 BMW. You end up chaning all the sensor as the diagnostics tells you it's one thing then you get that fixed and it starts blaming something else. So in summary , the usual checks, plus service history to check timing chains, plus lumpy idle check.

Forgot to ask, How tough is it in regards to stone chips etc? Also what sort of temperatures is it good for?

I'm loving that. If I had the time I'd love to attempt to do that to my E39.

Very nice cars. Good build quality too. The Turbo is usually a little fragile in them but easy to get to and replace.

Ah there's the old girl. I owned her back between '03 and '07 where's she at now. Now that car was nice to drift. It had a tomei rear dif on it when I first got it. But the clunking when going slow round the corners may have put some people off and it may have got changed to a standard. Anyone on the forum own that one now?
