Also if the valves were stuck half open then you probably wouldn't get the car to start in the first place as there wouldn't be enough compression.

Nick, If you say it's been gradually dropping back to stock boost, then it may be a boost leak that has got progressively worst as time's gone on. I have a boost leak detector and a conzult here which you are free to use. Give me a shout and we'll get you back up and running again.

I can imagine you tried to get the rubber hose off of the stock 14 year old plastic end capped radiator. If it didn't break when you took it off I reckon it probably broke when you over tightened the jubalie clip while putting the new bling one on :(. Common problem I'm affraid. Did you upgrade the rad and now have metal end caps or did you get another plastic end capped stock one ? There are lots of things like that that could happen with our cars. cost of decat pipes £200 - cost of new turbo's when they start smoking becuase there is no longer any back pressure holding the warn seals in place £2k ish Cost of WD40 and a tooth brush to clean the PTU, temp sensor, tps, cas, coil packs, injector connectors £4 - cost of replacing all the connectors as they crumple in your hands as you take them off £400
