  1. was thinking about that, but i wanted to go for the looks first of all and then sort the engine secondly. i know that might be the wrong way to do things... after spending the money im going to leave £1500-£2000 in the bank incase of any problems arising. The car has also only just had all belts changed less than 500 miles ago and a full service. what sort of price am i looking at to have the engine strengthened and rebuilt, not performance wise, just to make it a safer engine.
  2. Hoping to get some advice from some of the more knowledgeable on here.. I have a 1990 2+2 t-bar turbo in black, 110,000 km on the clock and my sound system is already sorted. Car has cat back nismo exhaust system and that about it. What i would like to know is what some on here would do with 5k to spend on the car. The following are my ideas. Have already booked the car in for a full leather retrim in silver and black including all door cards and panels. £800 all in Also getting some 18-19 wheels, any ideas? Then thinking of getting full kit and 4 pot lambo lights. Going to have a full respray as well just to get away from the aged look. If anyone on herecan think of things i should do, or have any helpful advice then i would appreciate. Thanks
  3. having had the luxury of test driving an rs4 as audi tried to tempt me with one to get me away from the audi tt i can say that they are an absolute monster. The new RS4 is better than the RS6 and as far asim aware there is no RS8... I have only got astandard TT zed but i can say it would take some serious tuning to get it to compete with an RS4. They might not have a big difference in 0-60 but from 60 - 160+ these will compete with ferraris and porches. They are awesome. But then at 60k for the top of the range you would hope so.

dont suppose the zed your breaking comes with leather??
  5. how much do you want for it??
  6. but there are people who will do the jap bulbs next day. saves you fiddling and adding awkward wires, and keeps things neat
  7. had a similar pair in my MR2 from a guy from belgium. cost £125 including delivery. The quality is pretty good, but as stated they are very hard, and the bit you sit on is a little tight. plus they need welding or bolting to your original subframes to fit... got the guys details if anyone wants, took 7 days from winning on ebay to receiving.
  8. First Dibs On Your Leather Seats And I Will Pay Good Money For Them
  9. not quite what i was told.... i did wonder why someone would want to remove it if it was working perfectly. Oh well, looks like i will go down the apexi avc-r route instead.
  10. was it a 3 pin plug?? 2 pins horizontally and 1 vertically?? sorry if this is all a bit vague, it might just be a bought connector crimped onto the wires that came off the turbo timer. Think if its light enough tomorrow then i will have to have another look.
  11. cheers martin. Just annoys me that it has obviously been unplugged properly as opposed to being ripped out, and i cant find the other end. Its so annoying that it is probably sitting just out of my view smiling at me. But i dont like reaching into wires blindly incase i unplug something i cant see and therefor cant fix. Thanks for the manual.
  12. Hi all, bought my 300 last week and so far so good. Only one issue i was hoping someone might be able to help me with. The car came with a turbo timer but for some reason the guy i bought it off had disconnected it. Some of the wires are still connected but there are 3 which are part ofa 3pin connector that arent connected up to the female connector. I have had a look for the other connector it would go into but cant find it. Not sure if anyone will be able to help me but was hoping they might as it does my bloody head in sitting in the car for 1-2 minutes after driving it. Also the turbo timer is fitted on the left side of the steering wheel, but the wires and connector go to the right side, so im guessing that the connector required is under the ignition somewhere. Cheers
  13. cheers for the reply. Going to cost £150 with shipping and i have no idea how long it will take to ship..... May very well hack my own dash and if its shite then buy one of these. But big thanks for finding the site.
  14. i can always go for the hacksaw, but with the angle of the dash its going to be tricky to get a nice tidy fit. Anyone know of any pictures of someone who has hacked the dash. And not used fiberglass and have a degree in arts and crafts, just cut and shut????
  15. and must say many thanks to martin and helen at argoed autos for ringing round everywhere for me. If anyone ever needs H3C bulbs quickly then go to John Morgan Autoparts (carmarthen) who stock them. Suppose it only helps if you live nearby..... Would you believe that i have fitted myown sat nav, tapping into the speed pulse and carputer with minimal difficulties, but trying to dip my headlights........
  16. well when buying the car, the owner told me the lights had blown and turned the light dial up to full to show me that only the main beams worked on the car and not the headlight. I believed him and bought new bulbs. After hours of fiddling i kinda wish that i had undipped the lights first on the indicator stalk.................. funnily enough, afterdoing that the dipped lights came on as if by magic. Should i leave this forum and never come back. I dont deserve a car
  17. maybe not since the site doesnt exist.... But if someone knows where i can find the site???
  18. thats what i was looking for. Top man!!!!
  19. now then. should i make up a great sounding excuse as to why the dipped beams wouldnt work, or sould i be honest and let everyone know what an absolute tosser i am........ suffice to say the lights are now working.
  20. guess thats what im doing tonight then. cheers
  21. I read in a few threads earlier in the year, and a few years ago that there was someone who sold a double din 300zx dash board. Would really appreciate one of these as i have a full kenwood pack including bluetooth and ipod and sat nav, and im quite partial to my double din to be honest. Any help much much appreciated.. Failing that, how would you like a little weekends work legrath??
  22. i phoned him up and spoke to colin but he said he couldnt remember what he did and couldnt do it without me having the car there, i wouldnt be able to get the car to him until tomorrow....
  23. cant see whats going on, there is live and earth but the lights wont turn on. The guy mentioned that the bulbs he bought were gas charged, but there isnt a hid kit. Anyone got any ideas, people are getting pissed off with me blinding them. Im right in thinking that all lights need are live and earth arent i??
  24. cheers, only tried the passenger side and then guessed something must be wrong. Will give the drivers side a go now and report in 10hours once i have removed the bulb. cheers again
  25. goody... they definately are hc3 bulbs and they are identical in every way to the other bulbs. The only thing that confuses me is that the bulbs which stopped working are actually blown, so i automatically thought that it must just be a blown bulb, but the new ones dont work at all..... 2 questions Is there a way of removing the bulb once you have unclipped the lead and under the clip surrounding the bulb. It seems a bit tricky to get out. Second question. Where apart from the bonnet would i look for a headlight fuse? I have seen the one under the main fuse cover but it isa huge plug looking thing and not a fuse. The only athoer fuse under there is the 15amp headlight fuse next to the battery fuse block. This isnt blown. Guess i will have to get the multimeter out and test away. And i have tried to subscribe but only paypal is accepted and i am waiting for them to verify my account, just incase anyone thought i was a cheapskate
