  1. :S The R75/MGZT has absolutly no relation to the BMW 5 series. Closest it gets is using a detuned 3 series diesel engine....
  2. Perhaps the height adjustment of the seat is set wrong? This would elevate your arse and give you less leg room! (side to side on the electric seat switches ;) )
  3. Probably a dry/cracked solder joint on the back of the instrument cluster, my friends pulsar did exactly the same. Bashing the dash would make it work for a short while again. Ended up taking it out and re soldering the joint.
  4. Have you driven it hard since then? Wondering if its popped a boost hose of.
  5. Could be a massive boost leak?? Was it okay when you first bought the car?
  6. Its been posted a few times, at around £6995 as murt said, its just to grab your attention, a 100k 300zx what the hell?! Good idea looks like its worked to me ;)
  7. SWB = 2 seats (sports car ;) ) LWB = 4 seats (family estate) SWB models come as slicktops as well
  8. You cant alter the fueling without a chipped ecu, i.e its a different fuel map on the ecu. The minus figures are the vacuum that the engine is generating. -0.5bar sounds about right. It will get to 0 very easily and quickly! Anything above 0 is boost i.e greater than atmospheric pressure in the inlet manifold. Im not familiar with the E-01 as I only have a poor mans Spec b 2.
  9. Do You have an aftermarket boost gauge? With the EBC turned of it should run 0.5bar or 7psi or there abouts. Which is less than standard boost which is 9.6psi IIRC :) Depending on the specs of the car but if its standard (I assume it has a chipped ecu) turbos with standard injectors you shouldnt really run any more than a max of 1 bar or 14 psi.
  10. Well it'll be upped to 30,000v or something rediculas but I was wondering if the coil responded to signal from the ecu to the o2 sensor and sparked continuously.
  11. Yay! I never win anything lol So does that stand to reason then that the o2 sensor plugs and coil pack connecter plugs are exactly the same? Any chance that the coil was trying to spark continuously rather than being timed as per the ptu hence no actual misfire. It would cause big detonation i suppose and all sorts of weird ignition which would smell bad or be a mixture of half burnt fuel etc I do find these weird issues fascinating! More more more!
  12. o2 sensor connecter plugged into the coil pack? is that possible?!
  13. Ah of course! Sorry only since the plenum has been off. Got to be electronics/electrical though, part of the loom damaged during the removal so shorting out on the block/plenum or something?
  14. I have looked at these with interest as well, alot of car for the money because its a rover underneath... but its not really as its a honda civic so top car for little money. I had a civic version of this car as my first car (only a 1.5 vtec-e) but a nice car all those years ago!
  15. AFM plug had been replaced and wired up incorrectly?
  16. I wonder if when its in gear but not moving its not setting the tmiing correct so its trying to stall. OR its an issue with the torque converter sapping too much power at zero revs? Out of interest does it suffer the same problems when its in neutral?
  17. Is it automatic or manual? Sounds like a timing issue!
  18. Aftermarket engine management fitted to the car that had gone nuts?!
  19. Welcome mate, I'm not activley looking to sell but if you fancy it then let me know.
  20. Nice low milage original car. Worth the money if that's what your looking for. A potential future concours with it's number of owners. High at the minute but one day nice ones will fetch big money. A few years time we'll be saying "do you remember when u could get a nice example for 9k". So I'm hoping anyway! Lol
  21. Ahh fair enough not a big issue then. Just a case of changing he viscous fan for. Better one? How big of a job is that?
  22. Welcome, you can have mine for 6k :)
  23. It sounds like an immobiliser has kicked in if there its no fuel pump running. Other than that from memory I think on an auto zed you have to depress the brake pedal before starting have you done anything with the switch on the brake pedal?
  24. That's not what I was meaning really. If I rev the car the fan is appears to run up to a certain revs but then passed 2800 rpm the noise from the fan Disappears. What I'm asking is does one of the fans stop after a certain engine speed is ?
  25. On a zed, am i correct in thinking there are two fans? An electric one and a viscous one? Should/do either of them cut out above a certain RPM. My car has a dodgy sensor that needs looking at (o2 sensor im sure of it) but when holding it at revs the other day as it was climbing past 2800rpm I think it was fan noise dropped massivly as if one had stopped, letting the revs drop down the fan noise came back. Is that normal?
