Ahh! Well thats fair enough truth be told i tend to edge to hard shoulder just incase the offending critter attempts any tricks like that!

rules of the road
cant be done for loosing power on a hill! otherwise everyone would just hit the back of slower moving cars on hills and say it was dangerous driving!

rules of the road
Ah but it makes long drive more interesting... My real pet hate is limited vehicles overtaking (aka wagons) Now i used to have a ball with these, again more in the puggys than my vivaro, once id struggled passed them you pull infront of the offending cretin and slowly squeese of the throttle so your speed drops slightly infront of them. Suddenly this wagon is bearing down on you and he has no choice but to slow down or hit the back of the van. He cant go left because his mate is doing 0.1mph less and he cant go right because hes not allowed. So its either big claim for being rammed on the motorway for me, or he lets of the power, misses a gear and hes down to 30mph crawling up the hill.... bwhahahhaha used to get all sorts of lights and horns and gestures!:D:rofl:

rules of the road
I used to love middle lane cruisers when i drove vans, they normally sat around 65 ish, and since i could only really get 80 or so out my old puggy partners (90 on a down hill) i used to do laps around them.... A mildly amusing game at midnight, overtake indicate left accross 3 lanes then slow down to 60 let them overtake you and pull around again and repeat... they notice after 2 or 3 times and pull over and of you ago again looking for another victim! :D

What we pay
bad is that really, just over 1% profit margin. I take it you rely on the sale of other stuff from the shop to make it worth it? How many litres a day does the garage sell if you dont mind me asking?

Looks like we get ripped off again!!
Car Tax rules are relatively simple. Because of an ancient ruling a car cannot be re-banded once it has been assigned a tax band. Our cars all fall into the older rules of below or above 1549cc, high or low tax. There is nothing stopping the government changing the value on these tax bands but i doubt they would do anything out landish for fears or mass revolt and no one buying tax. From march 01 we had several bands introduced, this also coincided with all cars having to have a declared emissions output for the tax reasons, some years the government adds bands to the list in order to penalise NEW cars not the older ones, so all the new super tax bands will only ever apply to NEW cars. However there is nothing stopping them increasing the cost of each car tax band, so lets hope they dont go too insane. Systems in this country rely on most people obliging and a few people punished, however if 30m people didnt buy car tax, what could the government do? Impound 30million cars?? Where at? thats my argument so if enough people just didnt bother that would solve the problem!

Exhaust systems again. single vs dual?
With a turbo car i'm lead to believe you want as little backpressure as possible, unlike an NA. So no exhaust would be best...! I cannot see how a single exit can be better, your potential volume flow is far less through one than two, unless the one is significantly larger!

Z died today
speedline78, that is totally out of order. You are not a subscribed member and so cannot offer yours for sale. Nor is your post helpfull in anyway. Murf, could be somthing and nothing. The TPS, (throttle position sensor) does what it says, so if the ecu things the throttle is closed when its open it could esaily stall, or fail to start. Im sure if you have an ask around there will be peoepl who could lend you or sell you a replacement TPS sensor to try. Shouldnt be too much i dont think. When you say the engine has been erratic what do you mean? Reving on its own or hard to start or what?

Refitting manual gearbox ?

Jerking while in 'D' postion
When you put the car in D, it has engaged First gear, so the jerk will be the engine taking up the trannsmisison slack through the gearbox. So when you take your foot of the brake the car should move slowly (auto "creep" as its known). You can get the reverse of this when you stop, put the car into park leave the hand brake off and release the foot brake, the car should roll forward about 2".... All auto's do this, its normal.

Oil Cooler
well, i believe turbo siezing is mainly due to overheated oil choking the oil lines up so the turbos get no oil cooling. Especially passenger side on which the oil lines are tiny. Jap spec engine oil coolers are renowned for being too small, so most people replace it with a UK spec or larger replacement. Generally bigger the better when it comes to coolers, although one thing i did notice that my old autobox with its huge cooler on it took ages to warm up properly. It didnt drive well for the first mile or so, but after it had got some warmth in the oil it was fantastic... Even now im manual, I still miss it. Not in the twistys but on the motorway it was awesome :D
-
Oil Cooler
Just use the UK spec engine oil cooler for the jap spec engine oil cooler and use the old jap spec engine oil coler for the autobox oil cooler. thats what alot of people do. Z centre do a kit i think, which givesyoua larger engine oil coler on the assumption that you use the existing engine oil cooler for the autobox.

Anyone else...
Im going to wait until it comes out on a proper platform.... aka the PC Once again its been said it will never be out of the PC, give it 6 months or so and it will be out... Just like GTA3, Vice City and san andreas!

Some stupid C**t .....
well... if it falls through make sure he suffers more than the zed is worth to repair. You know where he lives. Dam bikers, honestly, should all be banned then they can crash on their own! If the claim does go through i would take personal injury to the max, stick bike insurance up globally... They should be made to pay a special "scrape me of the road WHEN i crash" tax. Now the weather is nice again, all weekend and most nights the air ambulance roars up the valley with a spatula to peel them up from the front of a van or a 4x4 or whatever other object they have managed to find to try and become one with.

man stuck in lift for 41 hours
meh, sounds like a bit of a pussy to me. Sounds to me like he decided that he should be compensated a rediculas amount for having a 41 hour sleep! So he quit his job, and spent his money on getting the case going. Sadly, it backfired so he's now skint. Should be a lesson for this claim society, it doesnt always work!

Caliper Rebuild
Im Partway through rebuilding a set of Standard calipers for my car. Just making sure there isnt anything ive missed or should do, so far ive popped the pistons out, cleaned everything up and im about to replace all the seals (using a kit). Should i pre-oil the seals or anything fancy like that, or put it all together dry and let the caliper fill up with oil when i fit them to the car and change the fluid? Never done any before so just looking for some handy hints if anyone has any experience. Thanks
