  1. Call a locksmith to get you back in the house!
  2. lol i can remember a few back a few years but not so many... Parents, siblings and friends cars from the last 3 years or so. But not before, i tended not to look as a child... I just used to ask my dad about every car that i walked past "is that fast", "is that one fast", "is that one as fast as that one" etc lol drove him mad. When i got to about 14 to 16 i had a fixation with dials and rev counters and dash boards, people must have thought i was looking to steal stuff from cars as i looked into everything, i mean everything from an elderly blueblird to a ferrari. Now everyone asks me what cars are like... lol

  4. ROFL! Good story... Im glad when it ends up with the chav getting done! Glad the copper seemed a decent guy, i know some of them up my way wouldnt be so sympathetic... Although up our way they have a diesel astra, not a brand new merc so that could be why there a bit more pissy!
  5. If you pop the glass out of the tailgate you could strech some canvas accross the gap to the spoiler and make a "Safari" style 300zx! :D Looks better mate, although im a fan of the smooth tail.

you'll be walking the rate your going ;) Remember NW mob will be there so thats an attraction if nothing else... I mean who wouldnt wanna come and see Pete!
  7. Just to point you in the correct direction, that is NOT an oxygen sensor, its a mass air flow sensor, or MAF, when you come to buy them if you order an oxygen sensor you will get somthing very very different :) I expect if the delicate filament is okay accross the middle of the MAF you could probabyl get away with a DIY repair, perhaps ask around if anyone has a dead MAF you could nick a filter from? Alternativly as long as its similar stuff i dont see why you couldnt make somthing out of some similar mesh. With regard to the fuel fillter i have no idea im sorry. Never changed one on my car... ALthough i should probably do that at somepoint!
  8. ive just measured the spare one ive got sat in my room incase of an emergency.... and its 370mm in diamater or about 6.17 Bourbons... Im trying to bring it in as an SI unit. :D http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com/biscuits/previous.php3?item=16 BOURBON FOR SI UNIT!

  10. sounds like it. They seem to just go ive recently found out. I have a citroen xsara which was fine, no unusual noises or anything. Then one day, coming up the motorway at 70mph lost all power emission light came on and it rolled another 200 yards and stopped. Pump totally dead! Replaced pump and all okay., however a noise coming from the area around the fuel tank is probably a dead or dieing pump i would say :)
  11. much as i wish it was the car isnt mine buddy. just pointing you to the forsale section. mines the old long grey floppy one in my signiture! just a tin top tt manual shortie, is best for the job! the one you want!

  13. ha reposting my stuff! read the forum thoroughly ;) hehe
  14. being an 89, is it a Z31 or a Z32? Z31 looks like this Z32 looks like this This is Z32 orientated forum so we might not be as helpfull as the z club or similar :) If its a Z32 then check all of the coil pack connectors of which there are 6, one on top of each coil on each cylinder. Also check the PTU, which is a small rentagular box thing with a connector on each end located on the cam belt cover on the drivers side.
  15. well, its not shit. They are a fabulous car and once you get them in the blood thats it your hooked. Sadly where as the 200sx is a sports coupe, these were a supercar in their day and of course are a very exotic specificaion which comes with a price, they need constant money and specialist to look at them. Hell to say you have a: Twin turbo charged and twin intercooled V6 engine with direct ignition and variable valve timing along with 4 wheel steering and variable assistance could be any modern supercar!
  16. Here my friend... is the perfect car for you to start with. Ideal for what you want and would make a storming track car. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=111845
  17. Precisly, there are cars on here with a decat on standard turbos and no problems. Steve 300zx especially, but that is a 1996 car, so some 5 years newer than most cars which of course helps. Also, with the imports who knows what milage they have really done? I mean i find it funny how most imports always seem to have about 60k on them.... somewhere around Dubai i'm convinced alot of milage is "bled" from them shall we say hehe. What makes the 300zx risky is that everything comes in pairs, (and its hard to work on) but say an S13, you can get a good turbo for one of those for £400 ish easy, well its double that for the zed and you cant really get to them very well without popping the motor out. I would do some searches through the forum and look at everyone elses experiences, most of the time the decat accelerates the demise of the turbos.
  18. I doubt it, i think once it starts big time there is no stopping it. I get the impression the seal ends up dislodged allow oil to seep past. Im looking at past experience and observations, Decat cars seem to need new turbos around the 60k mark, yet i know of cars with the cats in place that are coming up on the 105k or so mark. Just making people aware of the consequences, especially if you've not got the money to rebuild it if it fails.
  19. Also to add, Oil companies dont make all their profit from petrol and diesel, so the accounts say anyway. Much like any large company they have different products some make more than others.... Most of the profits come from other products, crude oil sale etc. Just reminding everyone that the £x billion made last week by shell wasnt all directly from our wallets. Infact i did read soemwhere we have the cheapest diesel out of Europe in this country, just the Tax is so horrific it makes it the most expensive.
  20. Just to clear that up, the reason for the turbo seals failing is the lack of back pressure...
  21. Yep, just make sure you have the readies available to pull the engine out and rebuild or replace both turbos incase it ruins one. If youve got the cash and are happy to spend it then yeah go for it... But if you havnt and you de-cat it your going to be left with a broken zed, and no one wants that!
  22. Nothing is cheap with these things! Youve got a TT havnt you? Be warned about the decat!
  23. I have enough trouble keeping out of grief with my own, let alone being in trouble with your's as well!. Shuttum Cake 'ole!
