Feel for you bud, really do. In a way I agree and also that of looking for a beast of an import will be cheaper. I can honestly say though don't have that problem. My problem is I don't have the money up front so my Zed is my project. Ongoing til...well always. Makes me think when alot of my mates called me a girl as I wouldn't except any colour other than black/blue but you gotta go with what you like. Good luck with the search and meeting your show Zed sometime in the future.

You sure that's true Bunny. I had quotes on on 3 zeds when I was looking the the import I got was second cheapest. Think some insurance companies (mines elephant) aren't really bothered. Could be wrong and I'm just lucky but that's my 2 cents of experience.

When did they change their design? I seen pictures for the EVO X started back just over a year ago and they were completly different and I believe far better looking than that. We all have our own taste but that doesn't look like one thing or another, trying to be something it's not. Doesn't appeal to me.

I agree with most in here, especially with your age. The company I work for offered reduncies years about 3 years ago and have now gone through a 'change programme' which seen a lot of people wishing they took it when offered. If your company is offering reduncies they might be struggling and get rid of people down the line. Also if you work there for another 4+ years and still offering you wouldn't be offered that much as they can offer less and just increase you pension slightly (alot cheaper for them, damn government thing) when you hit 50. I am only 26 but work with alot of mixed age people and all of the folks around your age + wish they took the money when they could.

Thought so as I don't know anyone who would want to fit one, especially over the normal horn itself instead of an internal switch or something. I got cut up in Gateshead near the Civic Centre and police station and used my horn forgetting about the siren. Seen a copper looking so scarpered. Yeah I am still going to the meet. Going to mates to see about the alarm tomorrow, if not will get it done in the garage as been quoted £20 to get it disconnected. I have not had a good look around so you could probably help verify anything he has already done on the engine ;) Do you know if he fitted the horn or did he buy it like that? Personally never used a 4X4 but one of my managers swears by his Pajero. Had others like discovery, shogun, Rav 4, Vitara but went back to the Pajero. Said it was a lot more fun to drive (does off road events also). As I said I don't know but his opinion of them is good.

1st- Alloys. What are the best dimensions for both 17 & 18" alloys for the Zed? Reason I ask is with regards to a previous thread I seen regarding back tyres not fitting on the rear.(spotted ones I like but are 17x7 17x8 and 18x8) 2nd- May seem trivial but does anyone know which of these 3 manuals (Haynes, HP, Chilton) is best regarding information and diagrams as I need to order one? Alright eveyone? Don't want to hijack this thread but it is linked with the fuel smell. I too am getting a really strong fuel smell from my car. I have checked the fuel lines and it is not thse. However I had stopped using my turbo timer in the last few days and the smell disappeared. As soon as I started using the T timer the smell comes back everytime I next turn on the ignition. Any thoughts on this?

To be honest I'm not to keen. I am an AM fan and ever since being in a DB9 and seeing it up close everything just looks like a cheap immitation. But the JAGS that fllow an AM always seem to do better!

Cheers Apache for clearing that up. I knew it could never be a 4WD, especially when it's arse likes to kick out just to warn me :) In that case I am about 95% certain I can make it. Just arranging the time off work. Looking forward to seeing some other Zeds and maybe get some different ideas on what way to go with mine.

I had been speaking to the previous owner of my car (regarding suspension) and it came out in conversation that my car is a x4 and not just RWD. Without wanting to look like a complete idiot I didn't question exactly what a x4 was, just assumed it means 4 wheel drive. Am I correct in this assumption? If so I believe this dyno day originally was for RWD (750bhp max)...is it any good for 4WD? :smash:

Does anyone know where to get hold of a standard or the indiglo 180 mph clock. I tried through Nissan and they are not worth talking about, still waiting for them to get back to me(person I spoke to originally said "300zx, are you sure it's a nissan") :headvswal The coversion from KPH to MPH was carried out when it was imported but it shows a 110 clock!
