  1. Hi all, It looks like ZedWorld, where I usually go, isn't able to provide prop-shaft centre bearing fitting at the moment. Can anyone recommend a garage that'll get this done for me. I'd prefer it to be in the south east (I'm in London), but I'm willing to travel - within reason - to find the right garage. Any suggestions/recommendations much appreciated... Cheers, Russ.

Hmm, Kwik Fit - These folks fitted some [overpriced] front tyres for me (they jacked the car on it's front axle because they didn't know where the jacking point was), and at the same time told me that my front pads were almost shot. They asked if I wanted them to fit new pads too. I told them I'd get 'em done at a specialist. When I went to the specialist, they called me down to the car and showed me my current pads against the brand new ones they were going to fit. Would you believe it? There was hardly any difference - no significant wear at all. As a result, I'll NEVER use them again if I can help it. I edited this post in order to avoid any slander-type difficulties. Russ.
  3. Good God man, you're gonna turn me into a junkie! Stop posting piccies of them - I'll go blind!! They really are exceptional. If you can get another set of alloys as unreasonably dope as those I'll be gobsmacked. Russ.
  4. Were? You parted with them?! Does not compute.... ;)
  5. They look dirrrrty. Unprincipled, emotionless bringers of death! I've come over all peculiar just looking at them. I should get out more... Have you got pics of em in a different colour? I reckon the black against silver looks perfect though. Drooool.
  6. Jumpin' Jiminy the alloys on that silver car are ruder than Mycroft! They look fantastic!! Get whatever those are! Having said that I think both of the alloys you're looking at are nice. Not as nice as those black muthas but pretty, er, ill nevertheless. Russ.

What's up with it, Vijay? Russ.
  10. Yeah - I'm with Ajay here. The paint on the plastic of the front bumper (and air-dam) is not very well held on, and if it's got any chips/scratches, a jet-wash can strip the paint off very easily. I've even had trouble hosing my car down with a garden hose! I would strongly recommend avoiding all automatic car washes. Personally I give my car a hand-job whenever possible! Russ.
  11. Jiz - It takes some kahunas to come back and try to deal with this tricky situation. I reckon you should be commended and thanked for it. There've been some fairly mixed and polarised reactions to Sunbed's problems (who'd've thunk it on this forum?!) I've kept out of it myself, as it's all too incendiary and subjective. It's been a damaging affair for the forum's reputation. I can imagine as a prospective buyer seeing that thread I'd be a little concerned. Still, it can be argued that it's better to jump in with both eyes open. Sadly it looks like the forum's too late to be able to help Sunbeds with advice and good deals, which sucks. Anyway - nice one for coming back and putting your point of view across. Russ.
  12. Sorry Cos! Yeah, I was too busy trying to keep my parents in their Daewoo Lanos behind me - if indeed it was me at all! Can't think of where there was such an island that I turned left at. Oh well! Russ.
  13. Hm, perhaps the middle one was me: I went from Bounds Green to Enfield (North Circular then A10) on sunday morning. Metallic grey UK TT on the 'H' plate... Russ.
  14. Hi Donald - Yeah I suffer from the same sort of problem. I used Mark Kass in Camden for my 200SX, and it turned out to be very expensive in general. The service is pretty good though. I'm not sure why but I've never wanted them to do the 300ZX. I've always taken mine to Jeff TT's place (Zedworld) up near Tamworth, but that's because I have friends and relatives in the midlands that I can stay with (and because I think Jeff does a great job). One other thing I can say is that Vijay definitely knows what he's talking about, and I'd happily take my motor to a mechanic recommended by him. Probably see you around, crawling over the speed-humps of central/north london! Russ.
  15. Sweeeeeeet! I remember seeing those crossovers in the doors before. The Sub unit looks great, but I must be old - I'm thinking "Where's he gonna put his shopping??" :D I'll check back in a coupla weeks to see how you're getting on. Good luck, I bet it's gonna sound awesome! Russ.
  16. heh, you must have a f_cking long lead to your speakers from those fellas ;) What're the specs on 'em? How are you connecting them to your speakers? One for the sub and one for the fronts? Russ.
  17. Honda's V-Tec isn't continuous...is it?
  18. I'll jump in with an ill-informed opinion masquerading as fact: As far as I know, the UK cars are 280BHP. Japanese and American cars are 300BHP. Not sure about other European cars. Russ.
  19. Nice one Van - Yeah, I find the stereo to be lacking in bass myself, then again I'm using the amp off the head unit, and don't have a sub-woofer: go figure  I'm not interested in setting off property alarms as I roll down the high-street, but I am looking into some upgrade options for my motor. I reckon a beefy(ish) amp first, followed by a small sub in the back to beef up the bass. Of course, I need to get the prop shaft centre bearing sorted on the motor before I spend any more money on the stereo! Perhaps after the throbbing from that goes away the stereo will sound better anyway! Russ.
  20. Yeah, I drilled the front brackets to accommodate a couple of 6.5 inchers. How's it sound then? Are you happy? Russ.
  21. Well, no-one rose to it. Very well handled, I thought.
  22. ...MrRee, who has been banned after seven posts :D That's some slick moderation, folks - ta! Russ.

Mate, you've got an M3 CONVERTIBLE FFS - plus with the MX5 you have demonstrated that you're not swayed by stoopid stereotyping. Although the scooby has a boxer engine, and the M3 is an example of class german engineering, I'd still reckon the Porsche is a good choice. Boxster 'S', of course. Yeah, the 300 has a chest-wig image, that's true, but all of your current cars have similar baggage, and you still love 'em. Don't get me wrong, the 300 is a great car, but I personally don't think it fits too well with your other motors. You already have a Japanese techno-muscle-car in the Scooby. If I were you, I'd try something else. Just my humble opinion. Russ.

Mr. Ree? Mystery? Money no object? Mycroft springs to mind... Still, I'll bite... - Personally I wouldn't go for the 300ZX if I were you - you already have an FR car in the Mazda (agreed, a very nice motor). You have a clear gap - Mid engined motoring. Get a boxster, like a normal person. Love, Russ.
