Hi My N/A Z just died driving along today. One minute accelerating well, next minute all ignition lights on - engine stopped running. AA attended and check stuff over, they say on paperwork:- 5v + 12v present, fuel pressure OK Switching OK to coil +12v + Earth. Suspect injectors not switching (unable to access) He pulled a coil out and stuck a plug in but no spark even though 12v/earth/switching all present on test. Car being recovered by AA in an hour or so. Anyone got any ideas? Cheers Paul

Mmm ....... been reading around. The leak being down the side of the centre console and the smell seems to be a common factor and points to the heater matrix (or pipes). Sod it ...... Thanks guys

Hi All My Z has been pretty well bulletproof for the past 7 years but I went to use it yesterday and as I started it, I noticed about half a cup of water on the passenger side mat (fresh cuz it was sat on top and hadn't started to soak in). Hoping it might be a screen wash pipe disconnected or something, I decided to look later. Drove a couple of miles to the shops where on restarting the engine, it dumped another half a cupful of water on the mat. Smelled radiator like this time. Drove home and checked - tiny amount of radiatior water loss but also, the radiator wasn't pressurised like it would normally be. Does anyone have any idea what the most likely problem is and how to get at it? I'm guessing it's behind the dash - OMG!!! Also, what it maight cost and where to take it in Wiltshire? Local Nissan is obvious but I don't think they see (m)any 300ZXs and I guess will cost a bomb. All ideas gratefully received. PS It's a NA vert. Cheers Paul

In the early '90s, used to play £5 per week and usually won at least £10 most weeks. Best win ever was 5 numbers - £1400. After 'luck dip' was introduced, didn't win a thing for months so packed it in!!!

Hi I need a set of standard alloys refurbished and have heard that the two main techniques used are either paint or powder coating. Does anyone have any advice as to which is the preferred approach? I'm pretty certain that it has a clutch which auto actuates when you change gear - same as a truck or bus!!! I think it's something like a 200 milli-second gearchange in sport mode.

Kinda. I'ts definitely a manual in that you change gear manually either with gearstick or paddles. Also has auto mode. The M3 has a 6 speed version available called the SMG.

Sports sequential gearbox. Manual 5 speed box but no clutch - has gearlever and paddles. Good fun, properly quick car.

I suffer a similar but opposite effect about once every month or two. Steering fine nearly all the time but at about 20mph usually going round a roundabout, it goes SUPER-LIGHT for a few seconds - causes front to flick to the right, really hairy!!! This has happened for 4 or 5 years and still happens even since I've had a gearbox change which also changed speed sensor.

Thanks Jeff, that makes total sense. I will need to check this in daylight but I think that on my car, the inner high wattage filament feed (red wire?) has been cut and then a new feed soldered to the stub cable on the drivers side only.

Mmm .... may have an idea what's going on. Can anyone answer - On a series 2 JDM:- How many brake light bulbs light up with foot on brake? Is it 2 or 4? How many twin filament bulbs at rear? Is it 2 or 4?
