  1. Hi All I've just had my car MOTd and it failed on the rear fog lights not working properly. It is a 1992 convertible which I have owned for about 5 years. It has passed all previous MOTs without issue. The problem is that I have never used the lights so I don't know how they should work and exactly which lights should light up. Added to that, I had a replacement rear bumper fitted this year so I guess it's possible that the cabling was affected then. My car has two fog light switches - one (1) on the right hand pod and a second (2) one (c/w orange indicator lamp) under the instrument cluster to the left of the steering wheel. Can anyone help with these questions please? 1. Switch1 seems to operate the front fogs which are fine. Switch2 I guess should operate the rear fogs - is that right? 2. I seem to have a pair of twin filament bulbs on each side at the rear. The outer ones are side/brake. Are the inners supposed to be side/fog? 3. When the rear fogs are switched on, I get sidelights. Any ideas?

  3. You can try some Tescos Premium Cat Litter Extra Absorbant - the dusty granular stuff. It works brilliantly on concrete!!! Do small test first though. Paul

  5. I insure through a local agent but the policy is with 'Sabre Insurance Company Limited'.
  6. I would left-click the row above to highlight the whole row, right-click & copy. Move down, highlight blank row, right-click paste. Clean out the text and then hihglight the old blank row and right-click delete row.
  7. Zs been garaged for a couple of months. Took it out tonight and had frightening problem with headlights. All seemed well on dipped headlights, went to full beam - still fine. A few minutes later, switched back to dipped and had no headlights at all!!! Flicked the stalk a few times - full beam always reliable but dipped only returned one time in 4(ish) flicks, the other 3, no headlights. The only reliable way to return to dipped lights seems to be to pull the stalk right up (headlight flash) and when I let it go, I have dipped headlights. Too dark to look tonight - will try tomorrow. I'm guessing it's the stalk. Sealed unit? Any way to use contact cleaner? Easy replacement? Any ideas gratefully accepted.

  13. Most of the time, my steering is fine at all speeds and all road geometry. Just occasionally, it will go through a phase of sudden over-steer at 15-20mph around a constant bend - roundabouts are the worst. Just cruising round the roundabout without moving the steering wheel, and suddenly, some additional steering kicks in and the wheel moves a bit. No problem at any other speed/condition. This occurs for a few days and then goes away for weeks. No problems currently (well not up till a week ago when the autobox went). Wierd!!!! Any ideas?
