  1. What is the latest thinking on aftermarket ECUs for the Z32? My build is almost done so need to get serious about the ECU and wiring. TDI has ask me to consider LifeRacing as they are local, have strong knock protection, and they have used them for many classic builds. The only problem with LifeRacing is they don’t offer a plug and play option so wiring would need to done manually. Haltech and Link are other obvious options but interested in the groups thoughts. My build is a high powered NA so no worries related to boost control but I am running the Ross Performance crank trigger and CAS.
  2. Target is a 300bhp NA, will add build details in my blog.
  3. So these babies arrived today, last major component needed to complete my motor build. BDE VTC pulleys, intake and exhaust.
  4. Just a few pics covering the tear down plus the last pic I have of me driving the Z from Oct 2017. Engine looked OK when mounted but pretty worn as it was exposed. Bearings showed some wear after over 200K miles but not bad considering how hard I pushed at track days. t
  5. Intro - After more than 15 years of ownership, many great meets, road trips, and track days, my Fairlady is going through a full top to bottom rebuild. During many of the meets I discussed building the ultimate NA with Slick Pete as we shared the love of high revving NA motors. Almost everyone recommends going TT conversion or LS swap as the easy way to high power but I wanted something unique. So after securing some workspace with NickZ32 the tear down began. Its been slow going but continues to move forward. Will provide updates as I pull together photos and details
  6. That's the goal but not going to rush things. Latest delay is two month lead time on BDE cam gears due to Brett building a new shop.
  7. Late style intake cam gears View Advert Need late style intake cam gears for BDE core charge trade in. These appear to be rare now days and I only have the early style from my rebuild. Advertiser madmarco Date 01/02/23 Price Category Parts - Wanted
  8. You can go to a specialist part shop like mcgillmotorsport.com or browse the Z part suppliers (ConceptZ, Z1, etc…). Shouldn’t be too hard to find if you have the dimensions, bore, and thread size
  9. Full long block, I should be able to handle the less challenging items from there.

  11. Thanks Joely, will try to a bit more active than after my last attempt to re-engage…
  12. Hey everyone, Hardly a newbie but have been inactive for so long figured this would be the best place to reengage. Really good see most of the old gang on here still promoting the Z32. Began doing a full top to bottom rebuild of my Fairlady last year. Motor stripped down and delivered to TDI with goal to produce a fast high reving NA with over 300bhp. You may have seen the social media updates from TDI of the VG30 with the orange block, that's me. Certainly not the most frugal option but I love my NA and plan on making it the best in the UK. Will be updating/replacing the full drive train, new wiring looms, window out paint job, you get the picture. Currently sharing a lock up with Nick Z32 who is a real source of inspiration and knowledge. That's it for now, will begin posting stupid questions and rude banter regularly after I get my membership sorted.
  13. Back after a few years away, what did I miss? ?

  15. ZClub paid members get first priority for track time, however there has never been a problem extending the tracktime offer to 300zx.co.uk members. We have 20 spots available in a dedicated Z only session, so sign up quickly. Joint stand, just like the last 10 years. By combining our resources we get a prime stand location, plus it's a great social event with all the Z models and owners in one place. You can sign up here or PM me and I will add you to the list. However you will need to go to the ZClub home page to pay using the paypal donate button. Really looking forward to seeing lots of 300zx.co.uk members at this years event. There are some very special Z32's in the club that I would love to see in the flesh!
  16. Thanks Pete! I think it's great if 300zx.co.uk has it's own officer but really unfair to claim Dave knows nothing about 300zx's. He's done the ZClub proud for many years doing valuations for all the Z models.
  17. Thanks Gary! It was great seeing all the clubs together having a good time. Cant wait to see more of the same at LakeZ, the Drag Challenge, and JAE.
  18. Nope, American V8.
  19. Some pics of the day -
  20. Sorry to hear this Richard. I got there at 7:00 and it only took 30 minutes to get in. Turned out to be a great day, but it was really crowded. I'll post some pics on the main thread.
  21. Me! Cant wait, should be a great day. Gates open at 7:00 if you have a stand pass (which we do).
  22. Sorry Tubz but we are 100% sold out. The only thing I can suggest is to monitor the sites of the four forums attending to see if anyone backs out and wants to sell their spot.
  23. Japfest is a Saturday only event.
  24. IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR TRACK TIME HOLDERS Our track time is scheduled for 9:18 with a 8:10 briefing. General public dont get access to Japfest until 9:00 but stand pass holders can enter at 7:00. I reccomend you arrive early and go straight to noise testing, then return to the stand. You can walk over for your briefing (if you miss the 8:10 briefing there should be another one at 8:30), and then drive to the track time staging area at around 9:00.
