Ok thanks. It's a genuine 320kmph veilside speedo. If I replace the speedo from a UK car do I loose the km mileage on mine. Anyway of changing this on the UK speedo so it reads the same as mine but in miles?

Arent there any that go to 180mph? My car has some veilside 320kmph speedometer though, not the std nissan one so wouldn't this be different or do I simply just replace it with one like the one on ebay?

My imported zed speedo is in kmph Is there any kind of digital device i can get about as big as a boost controller which would sit on my steering wheel column just by the speedo and calculate my speed in mph? I just want a little digital display which shows me how fast i'm going rather than me having to convert the clocks/speedo over. Links to mentioned products? i.e - ebay. Any help appreciated.

Its a jap import so are the fuse diagrams all in bloody japanese? Any diagrams on here and where the hell is the fuse box located lol? Only picked up the car 2nite.

The belt which powers the aircon seems to have been removed.

Yes the heating was working fine before but it isn't working at the moment for some reason. The fans don't come on at all when I adjust the high or low blower setting. I'm only in Bridgnorth mate. 20 miles away.

Right picked up the car today and have a couple of Q's. The car in question is a 92 TT manual swb slicktop import 1) The car has 2 alpine stereos. One a cd player/tuner, the other a mini-disc player. The cd player/tuner only seems to go to frequencies upto 90.0 and therefore cannot get any decent radio stations in my area. Is this because its a jap imported stereo too? It also doesnt like to play copied cd's lol. 2) The alarm fitted is a Micro DLR4HD. Do you think this would have been fitted in the UK? The central locking doesnt seem to work correctly. Are the 2 front doors controlled via rods as when I unlock the door it makes a kind of a buzzing sound and doesn't seem to stop until I shut the door and then it auto locks itself. I have to open the door with the key (doesnt work off fob) and then I close the door too with me outside still and the door auto locks and have to open it with key again... not good if I leave the keys in there. Any ideas on this? 3) Is the heating powered by one of the aux belts that also runs the aircon? Would appreciate if anyone can give some advice on the above. Thanks again. PS - loving zed ownership, going to take some getting used to with kmph speedo and all the controls in the car being completely different to any car i've had so far including the 200sx s14a. Chris

Very true, plus as the car is an import I don't think any certificate for the alarm was included with it, so it might be worth getting a new one.

lol - on the day i took it for a test drive I asked for it to be started up, the garage owner started it, me and a mate popped the bonnet and i shut the door and went to look under the bonnet. Came back to the door and it was locked. ha So the garage owner had to go home to get the spare key. Doesnt sound like it's going to be a big problem to fix? Any auto-electrician should be able to do it simply?

Hi guys, I used to have a 200sx and have insurance with a company called MCE who I found on the sxoc Anyway, i'm 22 with 1 years no claims so pretty young. I've just bought a 1992 300zx TT SWB slicktop import. I've been having quotes for around £1500 per year for just TPFT for an imported car as you all know its usually more expensive. MCE have been unbeleivable and given me an amazing quote to keep me as their customer. £1100 - FULLY COMP with a £350 excess. At my age and only 1 years no claims I think this is an incredible price. Do imports come with an alarm and immob as std? What category is it if so? I'd have to find out if its a different alarm system which has been installed.

Where is the chassis number located on these cars? I couldn't see a plaque on the dashboard behind the windscreen. Is it in the spare wheel tyre well?

Is there like a child safety kind of lock on the front doors which stop people trying to open doors from the outside if you know what I mean.

So if I were to get a digital boost controller and up the boost then the blitz chip that is currently on there will cater for the extra psi and not encounter problems with fueling etc?

Right so its not a complete new ecu? What does the blitz chip do? raise the boost? does it take off the limiter?
