1. yes you can use one of those to keep the line pressure at max. the internal mods are to help cooling, they modify the valve body to help with cooling the internals. Most gearbox failures are due to over heating
2. theres a nice selection out here. ive tried both red and black ebc brake pads. i found red was excellent when hot but had some "fill the pants moments" when cold and these was really good on brake dust. the black are just a little bit better then the standard replacement with low dust. ive tried motor factor pads, they was cheap and chearful but i changed them as they wasnt any good but got me out of trouble when i was short of cash. At the moment ive got Mintex in but havent done any decent driving only done 200miles on them. seem alright at the moment.
3. i would have said the auto is in about 6.0secs standard. the manuals are about 5.5secs. its very hard to say what results it will give you tho.

5. LOL, thats terrible cant believe its fixed and cant be opened
6. the gearboxes on these vehicles arent the most reliable and if worn with the extra power may push the box over the limits. I know a newly rebuilt box with the extra mods inside the box should be fine but be looking £1500 for a good rebuild. for that money you could look for a manual conversion (wish i had). Regards to the power it will defo make a difference.
7. nice pics, looked like a good day
8. welcome bud good luck with the search
9. when i spoke to my mate who used to work a bass junkies, they say to stick the deadening to the inside of the outer door skin, so you trap the sound from the rear of the speaker aswell. it looks way too difficult to put it in the place he suggested so i was going to do mine the same as yours. nice job glad it works well.
10. well done mate really loving the vehicle, looks great. good luck later hope nothing serious
11. same happened to me today, had it on the second catch and the wind took it all the way back, i was lucky just marked the scuttle panel and i had to t-cut the bonnet
12. thanks legrath thats great, ill check to make sure the angle is the same as the pipes.
13. hi guys, had a look on vehicle and when throttle is open i can still move the butterfly valve about 5mm so doesnt look like they opening fully. do i adjust the screw (as in last picture above) so it pushes it open more. but by doing that wont it stay open when closed?
14. Hi all, just checked the injectors on my vehicle and while messing about i seen that the throttle bodies dont seem to open all the way. looks like 95% fully open? i took some pics of them closed and open, is this the way they should be or can i open them some more? if so how would i do that?? Closed Fully Open Regards Andy
15. just found these
16. but by heating up the sensor you are making a rich mix, even with little heat the sensor should change voltage. ill do the same test with the new sensor and see if makes any difference.
17. this sounds like a very nice vehicle, nice to see jeff got all records for it aswell
18. thanks for that craig but just ordered one from ebay lol
19. Hi All, just to comfirm its a faulty o2 sensor i thought id bench test it. Could you please let me know if im doing this correctly. 1. Put sensor in vice 2. connected the neg cable of my multimeter to the casing (earth) of the o2 sensor 3. connected the other end to the black cable, the signal wire. (red and white are for the heater? is that correct?) 4. set multimeter to the 2v setting 5. heated the end of the o2 sensor with a blow torch until red 6. got no reading on the multimeter at all Regards Andy
20. thats a nice car, love the black with tan, be really good if its a turbo, still a lot of money tho.
21. cheers chris, checked with my multimeter today and found the sensor is nackered. tried that what you said and came up with the reading 0.32v's. thanks guys
22. strange at the moment i look every day for Zeds on pistonheads and autotrader and they all going for random prices, standard jap spec auto tt ive seen are going from £2500 - £3500.
23. hiya jonny, what 300zx is it, turbo, auto, jap spec etc etc
24. !!!UPDATE!!! followed the test procedure from suffolkzx (big shout out ot him, many thanks) let engine get warm, unpluged right o2 sensor checked both outer terminals with voltmeter to check ohms and got nothing!! checked left sensor got a reading that was changing while cooling down. (right sensor nackered). checked wiring plug on loom, receiving signal from ecu and getting 12v with ign on so thats all fine. what i have noticed is that when the good sensor was unplug the ecu defaults to 0.32v's (must be default setting for ecu) the reading i was getting on conzult!! Now i need a good 02 sensor lol and try that. thanks all for your help again.
