  2. great that sounds so easy lol glad i can leave the box in, but without undoing the flex plate cant this cause problems with the input seal on the auto box if the convertor comes out with the engine? or will it stay in place with autobox?

  10. Hi people, looking at rebuilding the engine soon and decided on nearly all areas of the rebuild except for what turbos to have! want an overall turbo fast at spooling and good at high revs but dont want to spend loads on these. Im a best in getting the original ones upgraded? and when the engine is complete with the rebuild what type of boost is save to run at? also will i need to take it to a rolling road/performance garage for them to set up the mapping/timing/best boost etc etc? Thanks again Andy
  11. lucky bugga, enjoy yourself have a great time hope the weather is nice
  12. 55 means no faults, what stuff isnt connected, there isnt a fault code for all sensors but most of them. are all the boost and vac pipes correctly connected. what work have this garage done?

  14. nice one stella ill check saturday with that pipe, yeah heaters get warm, but engine has always seemed to run hot im just wandering if this has been going on for ages, really angry now but got myself to blame aswell for an over see and general maintenance. but you rely on other people sometimes. Thanks Stella again
  15. i know, was thinking of removing the engine anyways for a rebuild next month because of this problem, kinda convinced myself it was internal fault, it my still be tho. just p*ssed me off how many garages its been to for this fault. this is if this fixes it and whats causing the leak of course.
  16. just checked the vehicle and shes just taken 3 1/2 litres of water!!!!!!!! looks like someone has a leak!!!!!! wander how long ive been running like this. coolant guage never over heated? but as its warm now cant test to see if this has solved the problem. ill check for rust spots or an obvious leaks on saturday. really hope its solved my problem and i got it in time!! Andy

  18. hi all its me again with the same problem lol, noticed now that when i touch the accelerator when the vehicle is cold the revs drop before picking up and almost stall but when the vehicle has idled for about 10mins and warm the vehicle is fine? Could the temp sensor give this fault? just had a thought, what about if the coolant is low havent checked that since i had some work done! lol might go and check it now. Regards Andy
  19. nice one stu, going to buy a alum one piece prop when its goes back together so will i still need to mark the prop? really looking forward to this project now i know it will take time but hopefully be fun and a great experience for me. looks like i will be doing most the engine removal on my own do you think thats possible? andy
  20. so if i get myself a set of axle stands really i shouldnt have a problem getting to the underneath of the car. to remove exhausts etc. on an auto dont the box come out with the engine? then disconnect when out? do you really have to drop the subframe or is that over kill?
  21. great lads thanks, this makes for good bed time reading lol. can all this done from the engine bay or will i need some jacks to lift the vehicle at the front and slide under? really could do with a two posted ramp on the garden lol. thanks again
  22. This weekend thinking of starting the removal of the engine for a rebuild. i cant find a very good engine removal guide? or is it that simple there isnt one? lol. ill be doing this on my drive, is it even possible without lifting the car in the air? its an auto aswell does that change anything? im going to be hiring a crane when it comes to the big pull will i need any adapters for the crane to engine etc?? Many Regards Andy
