  1. Well lets just see now, Greece, the founder of all such events, held the Olympics back in 2000 as I recall, cost them a fortune to stage, built facilities like no others in Greece for what??? They are still paying off the costs of having to build everything, thus at the expense of other things, oh that'll be health care, road structures, etc... But they have lovely stadiums they can use, errrr nope, no fecker uses them, in fact some havent been used since they held the event and that is a fact!! What gauls me even more is that it is in London. Was 18 years since I last visited the capital, and I have no plans to go back. Why couldnt it be somewhere in the middle of the country where we could all travel to it easily without having to spend hours sat in traffic jams??? Hey what the hell, I only pay taxes. If they didnt spend it on this sh1t then theyd waste it on something else. Nick Oh, and I wont be going, in fact I doubt I'll even be watching it!!!
  2. My sentiments entirely. The money would be much better spent improving our failing services instead of this. And if the traffic wasnt bad enough in London already then they add this in!! I am so glad I dont live down south! Nick
  3. Actually sat in a 1970's TVR M Series. Just finished rebuilding it with my Dad but need to get it running better before I can sell it for the next project. I knew PaulC would be the man!!! Which mark to set it to though??? There is just this large amorphous blob on this one, about 1/4" in size, no pointer, no guide, jack all. Nick
  4. Bit of a long shot I know. but anyone know what the timing should be set at for a 3 litre Ford v6 Essex engine from circa 1978??? Theres 3 blobs on the pulley but gawd knows what they say. Any pointers gratefully appreciated! Nick
  5. 92 Rover 827 Fastback (the one with the V6 Honda engine in!!!) 99 Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.5 V6 (the wifes and she loves it) If it aint got a V6 we dont own it!! Oh and I get to drive the old fellas 4.6 Range Rover from time to time too!!! Nick

  7. Was gonna say that aint no 308. I used to work for a company that made a 308 replica created from one original rear wing and a lot patience!! 288 GTO's are pretty rare though and I'm not sure I'd wanna risk clattering one on the gumball! Fair credit to him for doing it!!! Nick

  12. I remember a while back, maybe 18 months could be 2 years ago, people were having number plates made up somewhere like Ireland, so that we didnt have to have the annoying postcode and advertising stuff on the bottom of them. Is it still possible to do this? Can anyone remember what the company (s) were called? Have searched in google but to no avail. Thanks Nick
  13. Chunk, thanks, first place I looked as he bought it through the ad he saw on there. Billynomates, thanks, have already spoken to Adrian (he did the chassis refurb for the previous owner) and he didnt have second hand parts. Splashout, thanks, will try them. Not too far away neither. Nick
  14. So Sita (or whoever) are gonna be paying for all your repairs then arent they!? Nick
  15. My dad has just bought a cheap TVR M Series in bits for very handy money. Refurbed chassis, brand new engine, rebuilt gearbox, rebuilt dif, new wiring harness etc. Pretty good package all in all for a Trevor and he's handy enough to put it back to decent order. Trouble is there are a few bits missing, windscreen wipers, heating pipes etc. Have tried the usual haunts, but has anyone come across a website that lists secondhand TVR bits per chance. TIA Nick
  16. Paul, Ive got a copy of the MR2 manuals on CD. PM your address and I'll burn a copy off and mail it to you if youd like. Nick

  19. Glad you are all alright after that and hope its not too painful for your neck. Gotta say though, if u are not at fault as she was running the light then I would be claiming on her insurance. You can claim your policy excess back off her and when it come to renewal it will be a no fault claim. Technically she should be prosecuted by the law for what shes done so you are being pretty damn kind to her. Your call obviously but thats just my two penneth. Nick

  24. Its not often people say that about me!!!!! Nice one. Doesnt look like its a goer anyway as the fella is not for negotiating on the price. Thanks for your help though mate Nick :)
