  1. You need to give them you crankshaft pulley too. The crankshaft pulley, crank, flywheel and clutch cover will all be bolted together and balanced as one unit. They will port the head to the inlet/exhaust gaskets, i.e open the exhaust port to the same size as the port hole in the gasket, if you don't supply the manifolds at the same time, you'll have a "step", as the manifold will not be ported, causing a restriction as the gasses enter the manifold. I take it your having heads gas-flowed, in which case the head has to assembled with the valves in place for testing on a flow bench. Hope this helps Keith
  2. You'll find for cost/hp gain it would be cheaper to do the TT engine conversion. .. This bit of info is wrong. A proper Stage 1 engine would have had:- 1. Induction kit 2. Tubular manifolds 3. Mild port and polish 4. Mild road cam 5. 20 thou head skim 6. lightened and balanced bottom end 7. Tri-angle valve seat cut Stage 2 Would start with 1. 2. 6.and 7. from stage 1 but include:- 1. Larger inlet and exhaust valves 2. FAST road cam 3. Higher rate valve springs 4. 40 tho head skim 5. Gas flowed port and polish 6. In-line bore of the block 7. ECU upgrade with full dyno re-mapping. 8. Lightened flywheel Stage 3. Would add :- 1. Race cam 2. Re shaping combustion chamber to improve air/fuel mixture, combustion and evacuation of burnt gasses 3. Increased displacement etc. And the list goes on until you get to Stage 5 which is a full race engine. Modern N/a need £1000s spent on them for big HP gains. Cost verse HP gain makes turbo conversion a more viable option. As for the Brakes and suspension upgrades well you can never go wrong with these upgrades.

E-mailed booking form, paid by paypal. Many Thanks Keith
  4. I got mine from Z centre, but it's a H-section and 2.25" stainless pipe with resonators cost about £180 delivered. I got a quote from Exhaust.co.uk first and they wanted £280 for making one, without the balance pipe!!
  5. The SWB centre section is shorter than the LWB version. I've just had to replace mine.
  6. You could always use a jap spec speedo and just replace 1 resistor in the speedo pcb, as per these links http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=35682 http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=36601

  9. It's Bomex, model nos 086+UAD099 and the vents are standard, have the same bumper on mine. European distributor for Bomex http://www.avb-sports.be/nissan/300zx/1990-1996/bodycomponents/frontbumper/8508
  10. Carl, I got one your goner lover then. Just followed a panda car onto one of Basingstoke's many roundabouts, I'm in the right hand lane 'cause I want to take the third exit off, the panda car is in the left hand lane. Twit of a copper goes all the way around and back the way he came staying in the left hand lane. He seemed upset when he got a blast from my horns as he cut across me at the entrance to the third exit, no indicators either. What chance have you got of other road user being pulled when even the old bill don't know the Highway Code
  11. To help you out 100m is approx 22 car lengths, so whether you can see the car in front is irelevent. Unless you leave more then 22 car lengths between you and the car in front, that is. While I agree people that drive, in good visibility, with their fog lights on are stupid, equally if you drive in impaired visibility without them on your just as stupid IMHO. Most drivers in the UK don't keep to the 2 second rule in good driving conditions, let alone extending that distance as visiblity decreases
  12. Funny thing with fog lights is there's no legal requirement to turn them on in poor visibility, i.e. below 100 meters whether fog or heavy rain. But there is a legal requirement to turn them off when visibility improves "201-212: Driving in adverse weather conditions 201: You MUST use headlights when visibility is seriously reduced, generally when you cannot see for more than 100 metres (328 feet). You may also use front or rear fog lights but you MUST switch them off when visibility improves (see Rule 211). Law RVLR regs 25 & 27 211: You MUST NOT use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced (see Rule 201) as they dazzle other road users and can obscure your brake lights. You MUST switch them off when visibility improves. Law RVLR regs 25 & 27 " If these driver's that leave them on annoy you so much, take their reg number and report them.
  13. Nissan recomendation is Engine 10W/40 3.4ltr with filter Gearbox 75W/90 API GL-4 3.1ltr Diff 80W/90 API GL-5 2.1ltr Any good quality oil, either fully synthetic or semi synthetic will do. I'd sick to a fully synthetic for the engine oil, personally I use valveoline duratec
  14. I thought I'd share this with you as it gave me a good chuckle http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brembo-Brake-Caliper-Covers-Type-R-Subaru-Mitsubishi_W0QQitemZ330060377771QQihZ014QQcategoryZ23013QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I've not seen them before but they are chavtasic. :smash:
  15. Are talking about japfeat 1, if so are you booking track time too. Keith
  16. I bought mine from Nippon Auto-Parts on e-bay for £69 for the disks and about £20 for the pads, and I've had no problems with them. Fitting is an easy job.
  17. Have you actually had a estimate fot the cost of repairing your ZX? The reason I ask is you can refuse to have the car writing off and demand that they repair your ZX, you were not at fault. Hopefully that will give them a shake up, remember the car's your property NOT theirs. I had a similar situation some years ago, and I was offered £300 for a car that could not be replaced for less than £1500. I did everything your doing, and got told by the insurance company " that seller's expect to take less than the asking price". If you have legal cover don't settle the claim quickly, keep fighting until you get a price your happy with, when the legal side kicks in to get you excess back, lay it on thick, out of pocket expenses for the time you have been without your car, agro because you haven't had you car, you get what I mean, anything to increase this side of your claim. Between the pay out for your ZX and any compensation pay out, you may get something close to the cost of replacing you ZX You could also try threating to sue to person responsible, get a solicitor. Your then you'll have the sod who wrecked your car chasing their insurance company to settle you claim. Unfortunatly these days insurance companies don't do what you pay them for and protect your property and interests. Wish you luck mate, but you might find you in for a long up hill battle.
  18. I think Nissan recommend API GL-5 80w90 for the diff and API GL-4 75w90 for a manual 'box

The best way I found to "flush" or clean the internals of an engine are first follow Joely P advise "change the oil run it for a while, then change the oil again." Then change you oil monthly for 3 months, then change you oil and filter quarterly. New oil is the best way clean out sludge, carbon build up and clean out hydraulic lifters without the risk of doing any damage. It sounds an expensive way to do it, but in the long run it will be the cheapest. Keith
  20. Gaz, How often during the year do you run your aircon i.e. 10 mins every week, 20 mins monthly, Only when you need it, The air con system is self lubricating. If you feel you using more fuel or it's draining power there could be a problem with the air con pump. Get it checked by an air con specialist. Keith
  21. You can order them direct from Whiteline also, http://www.whiteline.com.au/ Just worked out the cost of front & rear anti-roll bars are approx £263 (643 aus $) delivered. Whiteline do most suspension parts for 300ZX.
  22. Gaz, Why don't you wait until spring and see how things are then. After all we are heading into wintertime, and other than a monthly pub meet things will tick over until the weather warms up again. I don't think as S C Reo, that anyone would expect you to turn up to every single meet. It would be unfair to expect that. If you do try to leave your post, your ZX will get kidnapped and returned to you in small pieces untill you change your mind . :D Keith
  23. Your wrong mate, the only way to travel in style is 300ZX convertible, top down, of course. If your going to have a Z you may as well have the rarest and best looking of them all :D Keith
  24. Recieved today, good quality, great lay out, top job by all involved. Keith
