  1. Sure, beastie should be up and read for the end of June. Only about 10 miles from my house... so I'll bring it on a trailer it will be a first "meet" with other zeds... count me in
  2. Road legal..? I have an MOT... could get Tax... but it's un-insured.... If I brought my Zed on a trailer, would they let me on the track? Do you recon my custom exhaust, de-catted... will be too many db's ? --
  3. pretty hilarious reading. power of the internet, eh. Here's the link to the 675 posts http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98489 here's a summary of what happened. http://www.teamneon.com/NSX_NICK/ ...
  4. I saw another trader who was going through troubles completely change in character and cross over to the "Dark Side" .... selling, stripping parts off cars, every few weeks that passed he seemed to justify his own actions more an more to the point the whole Zed community owed him for the 7 years he donated to it. In the end half a dozen people lost out on around £400 each and I heard one story almost identical to yours.. where the guy never got anything and his £20K project was completely parted out (someone got the £12K engine for £3500 cash in hand. At least up until the last month, people could come around and look at their projects.. the fact you can't should be HUGE ALARM BELLS. The longer you wait, the less chances you have of any result. His reassuring texts can only be viewed as his attempt to pacify. Go Legal, Go Quick. I'm sure you're probably thinking that if you go to the Police, you won't get any of that extra effort out of him that he's been promising? dunno... don't want to call anyone a sucker... but seems like you're setting yourself up for a sucker-punch? Report it as it looks to be. STOLEN. When the police show up to his place ( which they are obligated to do ) be aware he may try and produce a lot of documents that show you haven't paid your bills and that in effect he has taken the car in lieu of payment. if it is believable, the police will say that this is a matter for the courts and leave. Remember: There is some unwritten rule amongst low class individuals : that the longer they go owing money to someone (spanning months, years) the less it seems that they actually owe anything; they even start to get very mad that they are still being hassled & threatened over a very old and complicated issue.
  5. Is there a difference? I thought there was some TV documentary that showed that tests showed that there was nothing in it? ( difference that is ) Wasn't there some sort of super-fuel you could get at selected sites? improves HP in super tuned cars by like 50 bhp? What was that called? would love to stick it in my ride(s) to see if it behaves differently
  6. I've owned 4 Zeds and have had a '96 GTS-T type M for 2.5 years now ( going up for sale in the next Week ! :) to make room for the X ) The 300 has more brute power.. feels more of the musle car. but not as driveable as the Skyline. Have good feel for the road in the Zed, but it just feels like a heavier more dangerous car (expecially when it goes a little wrong, or when you see a decision ahead at speed ). The skyline is very low to the ground and I suspect considerably lighter ?.. when you wip it around tight corners or even get the back-end to kick-out a little.. it just feels like you are in more control. (split second reactions just feel more responsive ? ) Mind you these can be suble little things I'm talking about... but when you are on the edge.. this subtle confidence can appear very massive. I love my Zeds and will probably never go a few years without one.. but the Skyline is such an easy driving, hoot of a car. ( I think some stupid international car&driver ratings put it just above the 300zx a couple years ago for drive ) When you get the Turbo kicking and your in the power band.. The GTS-T shifts very well ; never noticed a huge difference from a standard Zed. had a friend that upped the boost and power on his GTS-T.. but would just go for the GTR if that's what you want as you'll end up spending £4K + for mods. Yes the interior is like a Vectra.. hence me getting a NSX ( very reminiscent to a Zed on the inside ) instead of a high end GTR ( never driven a GTR but can only imagine what beautiful things happen when you take a car that drives sooo sweet and then put at least 400 bhp through all 4 wheels. Unfortunately strife said No GTR in my drive. Zed for Style and class,, Skyline for more nimble (light weight??) assuring drive. Skyline for chav, geizer, 20+ something, parking lot cred. amongst the fast Ford crowd. :) anyway.. only 1 mans opinion. To Answer your specific Questions! - feels more like an everyday car when driving; seating room difference is massive in the skyline. Want to buy one ;) one lady owner before I bought it. 18" alloys, kakimoto exhaust, Apexi Air; no other mods.. 60K miles... although good example in good nic not looking for top dollar.
  7. Well, £3000 later I got my Zed back into action with a rebuilt top-end, new Clutch, flywheel, Unortho pulley etc. Unfortunately I'm not going to get insurance for it; so packed it away in the Garage for the winter and intend to declare it SORN. ..did think about just selling  I do plan on towing it to a track or two over the next 6 months. i.e. should I try and start it for 10 minutes every week or two? or it is ok to let it sit there for months at a time ??
  8. I've got a mate down here in Berkshire who used to own a sprayshop; until he won the lottery. Now has a converted barn on his farm where he's got a full oven and all the kit. Usually charges me £80 a panel for a quality job... Don't know if it would be worthwhile bringing it down to Berkshire?
  9. A mate of mine made an awful lot off a Vehicle Insurance claims business. He has about 4 farms and 8 commercial vehicle businesses. 8 years ago he got one polish man who over the years have brought over about 15 from his village. plumbers, panel beaters, contruction, mechanics.. the lot. Whenever I get them over to my place to do building, fence, bricking, plumbing work.. I pay them 50% more than him (he's a tight *******) and buy them pizza for lunch.. because the work ethic and quality of work is so good. Granted they are hurting all the guys trying to get £200+ a day for interior, tiling, plumbing, bricking, paving, decorating work etc... but hands down.. the pols just seem to do a more honest job. :( NOT TO PAINt WITH A WIDE-BRUSH. I'M SURE THAT THERE ARE SOME REAL CRAP POLS AND OTHER e euros ALSO. and there are also plenty EXCEPTIONAL BRITS... the brits that are good are giving me qoutes that amount to £1.5K+ a week labour (hiding it behind inflated material costs and 5 hour work days) ....for good work though!! but that's just too much in my book for gardening, paving, bricking etc. *** I doubt an NSX parked in front of my house is going to help on the next qoute I ask for, huh !!!! ;)
  10. Yes.. thanks for the help! no way I'm selling the ZED; trailer or no trailer... the older it gets the better it will get.
  11. oooh... like this.... would have to get a lot of straps... to make it "look" safer. but definitely could be a cheap option. Wife has a 05 D4D Hilux Vigo double cab pickup for towing a horse trailer for which I am a named driver.
  12. Yes! what a brilliant observation. I'm so screwed. really need to just not drive a decent car for a couple of years. RE insurance: 39 years dumb. No No Claims Bonus, UK Drivers Licence from June of this year ( US one before that ) 6 points ON10 for driving my skyline un-insured while on a provisional ( at least my L plates were there and I had a co-pilot with a licence ) My insurance on the NSX is £2000 and can't fathom another £2000 (3Kmi) for the Zed. would rather spend £1300 on a good trailer and wait for insurance to go down in a year.... but yes... the whole crap "need a trailer licence" and probably accompanied insurance. Man... either I stick the ZED in the Garage for a year or sell it... seems like the only option. as you guys put it so politely FOOOOOOK!
  13. Not to steal your idea.. as I've been thinking about it for the last year... and finally kicked down last Saturday.. I am now officially very Broke... going into "Sell Mode" but keeping my ZeD but can't afford to insure it! 2003 NSX type-T Manual 22,000 on the clock... bought from an older Chinese businessman.
  14. I need to buy a trailer as I'm not going to insure my Zed this year £2100!, but want to be able to take it to track days / shows. I borrowed a friends once and it was a very tight fit / messed up the rims on my SWB. What width should I bee looking for?? Anyone know of one for sale? Thanks,
  15. added mine at 39 years dumb
  16. Yeah... really.... "you looking at me?" chump well, Beat This qoute!! boomin33 Adrian Flux (everybody, yes everybody else said "no thanks") £2039, TPO - All mods declared, No No Claims bonus, UK driving licence for 5 months. 6 points for driving without insurance. 39 years old
  17. I bought those injectors off Ryan and don't need them anymore; if interested
  18. If I'd have seen it.. I'd have bought it. oh well.
  19. As they say in the Literary world.... IBID. You are probably 100% spot on.. next step is to take off heads.. but reality is that the rings are shot; without knowing exactly what pistons/rings are in there can't really do a half job. The problem was probably there before the storage... means I was pulling on 5 or maybe 5 1/2 cyclinders when I ran the 480 rwhp. going to be expensive to fix... got receipts for £42K... £4K turbos, £1.7K seats etc... may take a lump sum for the lot before spending another £5K on a proper rebuild... as I'd hate to see that one go wrong for some unforeseen reason. any offers? So.......... 'drum roll' .......... although no consolation for the woes you had to expereince to have the right answer.. you, my friend, win the prize. if it goes the parting out route... name some parts that aren't very expensive and you can have 'em. or name one you really want and I'll give you a great deal. I'm sure that you agree that we hope it doesn't go to that, huh
  20. Yes.. thought that's what I said ;) so if this is the case and the 6th cyclinder is as Zero pressure for about 3 miles... what sort of damage would you expect....
  21. That's right, thanks for reminding me,, one of the first things I looked for... the oil pressure was good. interesting. reality is that it didn't get better. Just sputtering.. Told that there is Zero ( ZERO absolutely none ) pressure in the 6th Cylinder and that it's probably a bent Valve... could easily have buggerred the whole engine.... as there was no oil on the top end ????? It's not like I got right on it.. I'm at a slight loss for words.. I'm going out to Z-Tech tonight to check it out...
  22. I hadn't fired up my beast of a zed for 5 months. Stuck a new battery in & Started it.. let it run rough for a little while and then took it our for a spin to see it that would help. what sort of problems would one think this chain of events could cause? or any, for that matter.

  24. Having trouble getting much definitive info out of these threads... could it be that I'm missing the obvious... ? Where is it going to be? And obviously we don't know when yet.. If I can, I'll come along as long as it's not any further from Wokingham than Brighton is...
  25. Maybe I missed the obvious.. but when are you having the BBQ. haven't taken my car out of the Garage in many months... thinking about getting it going
