  1. Nigel Its just a query I have. Iam not detting, but there must be a perfect balance for boost vs temp. If you up your boost from 14 to 28 you will not get twice the performance. You will defo need to change the ICs I know this. Anyone else
  2. Guys I received my Conzult from Danny the other day. Iam in the Wirral so if any one needs a hand, fault finding/repairing their motors, give me a bell. I have had my Z for over 2 years and cried out for someone local to help me. In the end i give in and bought the little toy. So take advantage while iam still in a good mood  LOL Dave 07790494286
  3. Well if you consider that you pay about £100 for a std plenumm. Its not a bad price considering the performance increase stated. Have you ever tried polishing a plenumm yourself. NOT a nice job.
  4. most of us guys have increased our boost sometime or other. My query is that if you increase the boost, you also increase the air temp. By increasing boost to say 13/14psi using stock ICs.The air temp will more than double, this is the last thing we need. would you get more performance and less detonation running the boost say at 10psi. hot air is bad. Anyone?

  11. Bad news (well for me anyway) The dick of a mechanic managed to break my oil pump hosing the other day, I have failed to get another one in time for Sunday. So my Z will not be there. Some stupid moo of a women left her handbrake off last night and her car smashed into the back of me mates Z, after just spending 2 K on a vielside kit (not a happy chap). Another mate of mine his alternator has just packed in and we cannot find another one (Z31 can anybody help on this one). So it looks like I will be coming along with Chris by the looks of things. We have all been looking forward to the meet, but hey sh*t happens... Look foward to meeting you all.. Regards Dave

  18. Sorry guys I have another two Zs coming. Thats 4 including mine.....
  19. As far as Iam aware there are only rear seals on the exhaust cam were the VVT attaches to. Not sure about the bolts in question, but I would not rule out the PCV Valves/Hoses to be leaking from underneath the plenum onto the rockers. This is common
  20. Thought about this last year when I met up with Andy Z. He was stripping a Skyline and the rear lights caught my eye. I have the PB quad Fiat conversion a measured the skyline lights against mine. The only way I could see them fitting was to cut into steel lip at the bottom of the original light clusters. This put me off some as I had just had the car painted. I would be very interested to see if any one succesfully fits them. Andy Stokes might still have a set or two give him a call
  21. took me engine out to do it. With engine in you have to remove the cam belt, plenum, rockers covers, 4 x cam sprockets and the cams. To do the job you will need new cam end seals and poss some pcv pipes which normaly break when removing the plenum. Two of the cam sprockets have a small cover plate with a spring behind held in by four small screws. behind this plate is a 19mm bolt which is sooooo tight I snaped a socket plus extension bar trying to remove it. In the end I bought an electric tourqe 1/2"" drive. This made the job a lot easier. The job is a horrible job to undergo, If you need to use your car from day to day. Iam afraid you will have to put up with the noise mate. 4 days is good going with the right tools. If I were you I would book it into GPS or someone nearby and let them take the pain. I very much doubt that GPS will rebuild each lifter to time consuming. They will insist on replacing them outright. If you attempt the job yourself instead of stripping the lifters, simply clean and soak them in petrol and blast through the oil wells with a high pressure air line. I would then recommend soaking them in clean oil for a couple of hours before refitting. Excuse the spelling...not my strong point hope this helps Dave

Before you go out and blow your hard earned cash, get someone with a Conzult to run diags for you. If I would of done this 2 years ago I could of saved alot of the 7k I spent in bits and labour and bad diagnostics. The best test you can run with ANY engine problems is a compression test. This will tell you alot about the condition of the engine and should allways be a starting point Keep it simple and start from basics...
