  1. Apart from changing the KM to miles what needs to be done to an import zx (assume its in decent working order) to make it suitable for english driving? Thanks Al
  2. Yeah I hope so too. Since its a non turbo though mine doesn't have rear wheel stearing will it?
  3. I thought this thread had been deleted but I found it again! Well I'll give it a thorough test and check before I buy it. Visibly the car looked good though, the guy said it was a 3.5 grade which I read is above average, but then since thats based on visual appearance I could see that anyway. He also told me that no one else had come to look at it which is strange since surely he'd want me to think that if I want it I should get in there quick as others have expressed interest.
  4. It's like seeing the terminator after he's been in a fire
  5. So if you had a turbo timer (and I won't I'm just wondering), would you arm it, but then the engine would be immobilised later after the turbo timer has run out?
  6. Is the spoiler for show only or does it actually help grip? I'd imagine the former. Al
  7. Thanks a lot for your help, cleared a lot up. Al
  8. Thats great, exactly what I wanted to know. "or if you stop the car get out and don't arm the car then again it won't start until you first press the button to switch off the immobiliser" does this mean it will arm itself automatically? And is it common for an alarm system to NOT be linked to the central locking? thanks
  9. but how does it actually work? do you get out the car, close the door, press a button and the doors close and its all armed?
  10. what kind of immobilser is it? I mean how do you as the owner override it?
  11. Obviously this will apply when fitting security systems to any car but USUALLY, what kind of immobiliser is the standard cat 1? Is it built into the key or is it a code you type in? Or something else? Cheers Al
  12. Is it because of the way they spoke to you or treated you?
  13. No Yampie but there are speed bumps on my journey to school in the morning. The type that are like lumps in the middle of the road that come two or three at a time. Not the straight across type. Hey have you had dealings with premier cars too then?
  14. I guess when the car is as old as it is then there are that many more things that could go wrong. I think it'll be a J reg when registered and its done about 50k miles. Like I say though it LOOKS fantastic, but we all know looks can be deceiving. I'll just make sure I give it a proper test before I part with more money and I'll let them know thats what I want and maybe it'll make them service and mot it properly. Afterall if they ripped EVERYone off they couldn't possibly survive as a buisness. Especially in their out of the way location they must rely on word of mouth.
  15. Mr Red what were they like to deal with? Did they seem really friendly and trying their best to please (sneaky ninja style) or were they pushy and not very nice (not so sneaky ninja style)?
  16. I'll get the test drive before I buy, then if I do I'l check the warranty. I'll have to get a check list together before I go to get it. Thanks for all this everyone.
  17. don't worry though guys I know you're all looking out for me so I'm not gettin offended or anything.
  18. I didn't get the test drive because the battery was flat and he used one of those portable things to start it up for me. That website is different to the one for where 'my' car is though. Although i think the place is only about a mile away.
  19. no just walked through the open door.
  20. well one thing that the car has going for it is that it looks great. No rust or anything and barely any scratches. They had a rust bucket GTO going for 3500.
  21. I thought that looked like a rip but its not. The interior looks a lot nicer than it does in that picture.
  22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infiniti the full infiniti story
