  4. I've done a couple of this type of set up before, yuk, now i just replace the knuckle with a second hand one with a good bearing much easier. As Andy said remove the steering knuckle. But you will also need to remove the hub, by removing cap at the back of knuckle then undo the locking nut, take off the ABS senser ring and use a drift to bash the hub out, then remove inner race bearing off the hub. (bearing assembly has inner and outer bearings) and put new inner race on hub. On the steering knuckle take off cir clip and seal and press bearing out the knuckle, press new outer bearing into knuckle, then press hub into knuckle with new greese seals but dont put greese on the 2 bearing surfaces, then voila put the whole thing back together again
  5. the pin should pull out and replacement ones push in, i pulled mine out when i put the indiglo dials on and popped them back in
  6. no im not BR im what they call a boil in the bag driver shame i wasnt from the old school from what i hear of it those days where much better i hear all the older boys going on about stratford and Kings Cross and how good it was although the money is better now and i cant afford a hypercar either lol but as you say its not the job it used to be, its all about profit now Train operating companies not interested in the work force or passengers its all about keeping the wheels turning and the share holders profits and who they can blame usually the Driver, so they dont get fined by Network Rail, accountants run the Railways now. Its not to late to go back as a Driver you know, no age limit now
  7. contact Mike on here click he will sort you out the parts if you need them
  8. yep your right there Vini. when i was a shunter at Ilford seen many come in with bits of body hanging off and left over night in the yard untill they get cleaned off, or if i went out to bring one back in, you never forget the smell either. So you was on the Southern, Slade Green? Its all third rail over there so anyone one the track took the chance of getting electricuted if not hit. Hope your chest feels better and was nothing more serious than trapped wind.
  9. no real way of knowing unless the engine can be heard, but if it is a lifter the sound will be coming from the top of the engine, try giving the engine a good oil change first as this sometimes helps. Changing the lifters is quite an involved job the plenum has to come off timing belt off and cams out as they sit under the cams, then you might as well get a 120,000 mile service kit which will replace cam belt, water pump, 2 small top and bottom hose pipe that go into the engine and replace the cam springs not a cheap job. Dont wish to scare you so try the oil change first
  10.  tell him if he puts his foot down on the right hand peddle it will rev faster too and the more he pushes it down the faster it will rev

  14. then it wouldnt be a N/A with a turbo conversion
  15. does it speed up with the engine revs?
  16. yep that young lady wearing red underwear spralled across the car will compliment my white car nicely thank you :D
  17. ok bud easiest option first
  18.  fook me you gotta go some to get 800HP out the turbo, did you tell him you cant get the HP gains out of tuning a N/A as you can a turbo, even if it is a poopra
  19. you might not feel anything through the brake thinking about it as the caliper is bolted to the steering knuckle and the whole assembly would move together. What wheels are you running on, the damaged one or another one? Have you tried changing the 2 front wheels over to see if it does the same on the other side?
  20. it could be possible you have buckled the hub which the wheel bolts on to, as it has a stub axle that goes through the wheel bearing in the steering knuckle and its the rotation of the disk which is a floating disk as it pases through the caliper or the wheel touching the caliper as it revolves. Do you feel any movement through the brake peddle?
  21. they had Vanessa parrodi (sp) tho :D
