white smoke def water in combustion chamber check coolant to see if its low, if it was condensation it would burn off when engine warms up, possible cracked head or head gasket leaking slightly allowing water to get into combustion chamber especially if the engine has over heated at some point, it may only be leaking when engine is under load, get the system pressure tested you could take out the plugs and disconect injectors so no fuel gets in crank the engine over and see if any water sprays out the plug holes

on the ignition switch there is 3 main wires for the low tension side of the ignition circuit. 1 goes to the battery positive, 1 goes to the coil positive the third wire also goes to the positive side of the coil but through a resister, which the current runs through once the key is released to the run position, thats why you can take the battery off and the engine still runs, which i think is happening to your car. All the ignition switch does when you turn it to the start position is completes the low tension ignition circuit, i think some how you must have one of the wires that go to the coil possibly the wire with the resister wired up to a perminant live on the ignition switch or a short on the wires somewhere as the fuel pump is still working which only works when the ignition is in the on position, if your using an electric fuel pump that is

ment to say clean the connectors to the ecu temp and o2 sensers

never fitted 1 but they fit in place of the windscreen im sure they cant be that hard to fit

02 sensers dont work properly untill the engine is at the correct operating temp, and when the engine is cold the engine runs rich, which fails up the 02 sensers, i would check the ECU temp sender on the metal water pipes that go into the engine if this is faulty or clogged up with the green shit it will send the wrong signal to the ECU which will map the engine to run rich if it thinks its not at full operating temp, and as i said if the engine is rich it will foul up the 02 senser, so check the yellow ECU temp sender first
