  3. If your going to do a build its worth doing it properly go for the uprated internals, their the most important part of the engine, then you will have peace of mind, dont be penny wise and pound foolish! :D

  7. Timing could be slightly out if you have just done the Head Gaskets. Its possible it could be the Fuel pressure regulator, as it should keep the pressure at around 43psi depending on injector pulse duration but if there is excessive fuel pressure then a valve opens and sends the excess fuel back to the tank. Also you wont get the pulse duration at the correct time if timing is out. Firstly try cleaning the ECU Temp sender you could also do a search as this subject has been coverd a lot lately, good luck
  8. Thats bad luck bud, but hold on first lets see what we can do. From where is it rattling from, top, bottom of the engine? This proberbly explains your running issue might of dropped a valve or lifter if its coming from the top end. What else did this Mechanic do?

  18. dont use cruise control i found it uses more juice. Your lucky it is a TT they have better gearing for motorway work so that helps
  19. yep know what you mean, poxy shift work on the railway. I do a week of lates then a week of earlies. I could be on our last job out of London at 00.55 back to depot at 02.20 home by 03.00, time i get to bed its gone 4 spend most of Sunday in bed get up in the afternoon then back in bed about 21.00 to get up at 03.30 to be at work at 04.45 if on first one out. And its impossible to sleep fooks whole body clock up, i can never go bed early and sleep if im on earlies, the more i try the more i cant and the more i get wound up and cant sleep knowing i got to get up early and all week that will last

  22. right so all thats been fitted so far is the tubs? You are still running stock chip with stock injectors then, so the fuel mapping is fine. You proberbly not getting any more boost than stock at the moment as the stock chip is still only boosting to its perimeters. It dosnt matter what way round you do the mods in your case as you where going to change to an uprated ECU an injectors strait away, and thats the tip of the iceberg. Im just wondering though what psi you hope to run at, as im guessing your still be running stock engine internals? If you just want to run up to 1 bar then you didnt need to change the tubs and injectors, although they would be at their max and not really recommended to run old stock tubs and injectors that high. If your wanting to run higher psi and much more bhp your going to be starting to look at engine internals. Also you going to want bigger intercoolers, an electronic boost controller and a bigger rad to cool the engine better. Bigger brakes to stop the bugger too, highly recommended, and thats without suspension (assuming you havnt already done these?) :D

  24. same as happened to all the zeds i've had, im thinking of stripping it off to bring up the shiny metal below or rub it down smooth and paint matt black. Its that and scuttle that are the only things that make the car look old
