  1. looks standard to me, maybe just on imports
  2. Hi all My stock oil pressure gauge is totaly rubbish and doesnt work most the time. I have bought a set of guages one being an oil pressure gauge with its sender. I'm not bothered about the oem gauge so im just going to get rid of the old sender and fit my new one in its place (connected to new gauge). I will probably experiment with connecting the oem gauge to the new sender as well as the aftermarket one as the voltage should remain the same so they should both work. I was wondering though if the ecu monitors oil pressure like it monitors water temp etc, if so what effects could this have? Also is there anything else important connected to the stock oil pressure sender or can i just chuck it? Next question is what size thread does the stock sender have? So i know if the new one will go straight in or not. Many thanks, Ed
  3. Yes I'd like to know as well as i thought it was just a bulb, i was planning to change it from green to red but not looked at it yet. Let us know what its made of!
  4. 4.8 psi gain gives me 9psi max boost, limit set at 11psi Low setting 8.8psi gain gives me 13.5psi max boost, limit set at 15 psi High setting Max recorded boost is 14.9 psi (god knows how i got that)! just turn it up slowly till your at your comforable limit then set it as high i run the low setting at about the same as stock boost 8-9 psi
  5. that with a tt or na tho?
  6. Profec B spec II here too, good bit of kit and car goes like stink when set on high!
  7. what about if you bought a pre modded car and you werent aware of ALL the mods. Ignorance not an excuse but a serious question?
  8. i drive 36miles a day and it costs a tenner in optimax, works out about 18 miles to a fiver = 16mpg (driving normally with the odd burst here and there) Jap tt manual
  9. cheers matey, ill let you know if i need it
  10. I was at MFN on the 23rd with my kitted red z, wrong week tho!
  11. cheers all I'll have a go at it tomorrow if i manage to get out of bed!
  12. Hi all, my starter motor started grinding instead of turning the engine the other day. it used to do it about 1 in 10 times, now its about 1 in 3! From what i had read it seems they can work loose and this problem can occur. I also read that they can be removed in 5 min. Can someone please tell me exactly where the motor is and the easyest way to remove it. My car is a jap model TT manual and is very low so im hoping a kerb will be enough for me to get to it! I need to get this sorted asap, so with any luck ill be under the car tomorrow morning
  13. Mines runs at 8.5psi in low mode and 13 in high - there is a massive difference
  14. Any luck with those other pics mate? My number is 07813777245 if you feel like picture messaging them to me! Thanks, Ed
  15. only if its post 1992, as my 1990 car dont needs cats for the mot! (still needed the extra fog light tho) front fogs are not an mot item
  16. yeah he took the stereo out and sold it to steve for 4600, i bought it from steve for 4k I just spent 500 quid on tyres and brake pads, gotta be done tho!

I had that too, was due to burning dust in the cats, you only get it on imports
  18. My side lights are the led kind bulbs you pictured and are rewired into the kerb lighting bit in the inducators (the blank bit on yours). Passed the mot no probs and look well cool. The wires to my fog lights have been cut so i may remove them as you have done.
  19. Yeah i looked at about six before buying that one. Couldnt resist all the shiny bits! The guy who bought it from you said he was gonna make it the best in the country but didn't have the time. He also said he wasnt overly impressed with it? Fool! redsteve who i bought it off had 2 other skylines and had only driven it a few miles, so i think he was just a jap car addict. When i drove it for the first time it didnt handle very well so maybe thats what the first guy meant. I then got a new mot and the track rod ends changed etc, it now handles spot on! I drive around 40 miles a day so i will keep it until i run out of money for fuel! I have already sorted quite a few little things, adjusted the rev counter to read correctly etc. The next thing on my list is a new spoiler or tailgate with one already on, I have some more gauges on the way as it lacks a decent oil pressure gauge and the one in my old car saved me a few times! If you manage to get those other pictures off your phone I'd be delighted! Or perhaps you could picture message them to me (expensive i know)! My email is edk83@hotmail.com Ps where abouts are you? Im in Belper, just north of Derby. Let me know when and where the next midlands meet is so I can be sure to attend! Thanks, Ed
  20. I run 15psi on standard tubs no problem, it says on the auction that it has an apex boost controller so just turn it down!
  21. I have an aftermaket water temp gauge with normaly sits between 155 and 170F (about 68 - 75c) ish. The oem one always sits in the middle and gets there way before my aftermaket one gets anywhere near normal running temp > so i ignor the oem one anyway.
  22. I have the same problem, the spoiler on my import is knackered too. I'm thinking of just changing the whole tailgate as it will work out cheaper than buying a spoiler and getting it painted etc, must less hassle. So if anyone is breaking a lwb red z with a decent rear spoiler i want your tail gate! I found one the other day with looked promising but the tailgate was not in as gooder condition as i wanted
  23. must be a high miler then
  24. I also pretty much ran it dry then put in a fiver of optimax with a bit of additive. i was thinking about getting an old saab 2.3 turbo for a couple of hundred, stripping it and using it as a santa pod car. They do 90 in 2nd and have loads of torque. With the heavy saab seats etc gone, should be pretty quick?
  25. (which we all assume 150 on a private dual carriageway i hope!) lol yeah of course! Is there anywhere in england you can actually do top speed tests? i.e a runway etc, i'd love to know what it can acually do!
