I got my short shift kit a couple of days ago. It came with instructions that say 2 of the 6 bolts you have to remove are accessed from under the car. Is this true as i have been told you can do it all from the top? The zchicks website doesnt say either! Thanks, Ed

I keep seeing you about 7.30am on some weekday mornings including today going west on the A609 towards Smally cross from Ilkeston. I was driving my red Z today so perhaps you saw me pass you from the other direction? Car looked to be a black, Uk spec with high spolier and lambo lights - nice looking motor!

So what does the sub fan relay do then? DAB1 your fusebox looks the same as my imported manual tt.

My quick shift kit came today. Its much better quality than I expected and only paid 30 quid for it! One question before i start taking my car appart. In my earlier posts I asked if you needed to go under the car to fit it. Krsmayo says he did it all from the top. The kit came with instructions which say that the shifter is held down with 6 bolts, the front two of which have to be accessed from under the car! Is this true?!

so is there a way of stopping the engne from cooking once it has been turned off?

sub fan relay i think. It was missing on mine so i just fitted one. Didnt make any difference tho the electric fan still doesnt come on and engine gets well hot once off. Which fan is the viscous fan? Is that the fan we are talking about?

just been out in the car and the relay has not made any difference. I still dont hear a fan after the engine is stopped and the temp rises to 90c once the engine is stopped! Any ideas?!

Can some other people go have a look at their sub fan relay and tell me if it matches the pictures? Thanks All

DAB1 are you sure the pictures you took are of the sub fan relay? I got one that matches your picture and it fits the socket in the car but when i put it in i noticed that the socket is blue and the relay is green. All the others are colour matched, are you sure its the right relay?

Yes I am missing the sub fan relay from the fuse box in the engine bay. When i turn off my engine the temp rises to over 100c! So the fan is definatly not working! I have managed to get a new relay but not plugged it in yet. I'm wondering if its missing to hide bigger problems with the fan etc. I'll soon find out! Where exactly is the sub fan on the z that should spin to stop the engine cooking once you turn it off?

I'm wondering if its a common thing/failure. But i have been told that the viscous fan will not run without it and the engine will cook once turned off so i want one soon as!

well i have asked 2 people who are breaking z32's and they have some relays but dont know which one it is as they are not in the car any more. so i need a description to give them. If they both have 1 I'll buy the cheapest and post the email address of the other one for you!

Hi, can someone please go have a look at their sub fan relay thats in the fuse box in the engine bay. I need to know the colour of it and part number written on the side so I can get a replacement one. Thanks all, Ed
