power lead to coil pack
One of my coil packs has a zip tie holding the connector onto the top of it. I removed the zip tie to see what would happen and it stopped firing on that cylinder. On closer inspection the clip that holds the power wires onto the top of that coil pack has broken off. The clip appears to be part of the connector on the end of the wire not the coil pack. What i want to know is can this wire easily be changed by removing the throttle body cover and unpluggiing it? If so anyone got a spare one? Put another zip tie on for now and cylinder is firing again!

'NISSAN' lettering on calipers, what colour should it be?
Just finished doing mine. Painted red with high temp caliper paint, then sanded the lettering back to metal with a block. Fitted brembo disks and new pads. looks the nuts for the 100 quid it cost me for the disks, pads and paint!

Best gear box oil??
The best quote I could get for Royal Purple was £153 + £15 delivery! This was for 5 litres of racing 41 engine oil and 6 litres of max gear oil. Ended up going to my local and got 5 litres of Silkolene Pro S 10w/40 for £28, 4 litres of Millers fully synth 75/90 for £32 and 2 litres of Millers motorsport lsd 75/90 for £16 total = £76! I know that Royal Purple has been proved to increase power etc but im pretty sure I'll get a power increase with any new oil over the current 15 year old stuff!

Short Shifters
Just to stress again how impressed i was with the quality of the kit :)
-
Short Shifters
Mine was from 800bhp too. very well made part, very good value. The main thing is the shifter bushes, when i took mine appart i only had half of one lefi on one side! Just replacing these makes a big difference but fitting the shorter shifter as well makes the box feel more racey. I too did the bottom bolt up too tight, loosened it a bit. The bolt on mine has a built in washer so should be ok!

De-cat with standard turbos
see my poll on this subject, shows numbers of who had problems and who didnt. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=74882&page=2&highlight=decat I'm still going to decat mine, but at the end of summer so if it does kill it i will have all winter to change the turbos. I'm going to get my own custom decats made with boxes and maybe some small restrictors. No there wont be as much performance increase as a straight through but better than 15 year old clogged up cats!

poor fuel economy
i bought a fiesta to drive to work after 3 weeks of spending 90 quid a week on fuel, now can do a whole week on 20 quid! Also means i can take my time with the z instead of rushing jobs.
-
Another bloody de-cat question
Thats what I'm going to do. Adding small stainless boxes and maybe small restrcitors into my phnw pipes when they turn up. Gotta be a power increase over the 15 year old cats!

PC / electronic type guys
Before my clutch bit the dust i was planning on building a mac mini into the car. They are about the size of a pc dvd drive and have an external power supply. Mac OS power managment is 100 times better than xp/windows standby and hibination and would be much better in a car. If you have to use a pc then you can get mini atx mobos which are tiny, Via do them with onboard processors. You can get power supplies with built in 10 second ups's but they are expensive.
