  1. Is it allways at 5500 rpm when it happens.
  2. It may be fuel, may be PTU,or MAF,or coil packs.
  3. JD Chip;) or there are others that can oblige on here.
  4. There are a couple of dedicated Z track cars about, but they certainly have had a fair bit of work done, especialy cooling, brakes, stripped out etc, they go very very well, but as for stock or near too,i would tread lightly around the Ring, preperation has to be spot on,everything needs to be checked and A OK,very very long track, with a huge amount of corners and huge amount of gear changes, not like a quick blast round say Castle Combe. Tony
  5. Is it an import with limiter still in place(112mph)
  6. Had same issues once, use liquid spray grease,or silicone spray, worked well.
  7. Think i know who they are,the exchange engine is rebuilt then sold as a Premium Engine, more expensive.
  8. True, but the overall dimensions do,thats why they went with the longer chassis compared to the SWB.
  9. True when talking of overall performance, but, due to some tracks being long with long sweeping corners(some banked)they had issues with stability with the SWB at top speed,on the shorter tighter tracks this was not an issue,so after a few seasons they got hold of a LWB and found in trials that it was better than the SWB for the more longer tracks, they decided to stay with the LWB and develop it more, as it gave a better advantage, higher lap times, more points scored, more wins.(Stillen has both models in his garage, lucky begger) Tony
  10. 1995 season only, last year of racing.Car was originaly a SWB,later they had the first LWB in the US, specialy shipped over, after which they got to winning on tracks they had previously failed on. Tony:cool:
  11. Some years ago i insured my first Z and due to someone getting stuffed over by the ins comp due to same thing as bigsimon, i double checked,(had been driving it for a couple months)turned out it did not state anywhere in my ins papers that car was import model, got it amended, and also to state car was a FailadyZ 300ZX,better safe than sorry. And one other thing, certain people ins cars as uk not import cars to save a few bob,and then get stuffed, but its been proved so many times that ignorance in the eyes of the law is not acceptable. Tony
  12. Sorry bud,but your mullerd, way way back on here same things have happend, when ins an import you must check your ins schedule when it arrives,if it does not say IMPORT/or Fairlady Z send it back with it corrected or get in touch with them, and i know that there must be other Z owners out there and on this site that may assume there ins covers them but prob infact it dont. Tony
