Rad Cap
Hi I fill my rad up and the water leaks from the rad cap. There is a little groove in the plastic neck that the rad cap turns onto and what appears to happen is that when the system gets hot the cap gets forced into the groove and water comes out under the cap. Spencer

Rad Cap
Hi Yeah I check for bubbles and nothing. I'm really stumped with this. I though I would get a new rad cap to start with, but if they are all the same then there doesn't seem to be much point does there. Any ideas? Spencer

Rad Cap
Hi I was having problems with my rad and the guy at the garage swapped the cap with another Zed that was parked out the back. I'm still having problems, but I was wondering about the cap. Are the all the same or are they different? ie is the pressure capacity/ size etc the same. If not does anybody know somewhere near Kingston where I can get one tomorrow (Sat)? Thanks Spencer

OK, but I am at work, will have to do it when I get home. What should I do, all the steps in what I said above and then look for bubbles in the top of the rad? Oh and is the coolant tank - RHS as you look at front of car - just an overflow? Or should this be filled with water also? Thanks

Ah no I don't think it is HG, as there aren't any bubbles in the oil and there isn't and white crust around the oil cap. So any other guesses? he he he

Help Needed
Hi The Rad was empty on Saturday so I took out the bleed screw and filled it with water. It took about 6 litres. Put the bleed screw back in. I then turned the car on and put the temp up to 40. Once the fan kicked in the water level dropped and I filled it up again. After driving for about 20mins the cap started to come of and it started to spray out water. What do you think? Spencer

Hi Thanks for your help. I have been told that if I want a Koyo rad I also need a rad for my autobox. I have been told that I shouldn't expect much change from £600 fitted. Spencer

Help Needed
Hi Guys I have written recently about my problems with the car over heating and now I have found the cause. The plastic around the top of the Rad where the cap screws onto has got a grove in it. As the car temp builds up the cap gets forced into the grove which raises the cap and thus lets out the water. Anybody got a simple solution? I mean can I use some kind of plastic resin to try and fill in the grove, or is it a new rad. If it's a new rad anyone got an idea how much is going to cost me to get it swapped? Look forward to your help Spencer

Over heating
Hi Guys My car is giving me trouble and it's really strange. I drove to Plymouth on Friday and the car overheated 4 times. Yeah I know what you are thinking, why did I carry on driving. Well I'm sure I know what the problem is. Where the cap fits onto the rad the plastic has worn away and the cap doesn't fix on properly. So when she gets hot the pressure must force up the cap and the water is getting out there. So I just kept stopping at certain intervals and letting her cool down before I topped her up again. Anyway I thought that I would drive back in the middle of the night to avoid traffic and the heat. On the way back she didn't over heat once and I drove all the way back to London. Oh it should be noted that on the way there I had the AC on and no the way back I didn't. But to night I drove her for about 20mins and she got hot again. AC off until about 5mins before I gto there. Oh and no problem on the way back - AC off. Anybody got any thoughts. I have to top her up with loads of water, about 5litres every time I go out. Thanks in advance for your help. Spencer Spencer

Dials
Hi ANybody want to answer the thread, rather that buy and sell dials. ;) Spencer

Dials
Hi Guys Well they just have to go, my dials I mean. I currently have a jap import and my speedo goes from 0 to 120mph, the problem is that it's not even right. I think the dial is out my 10mph and not in my favour. So when I doing 30mph the dial says 20mph etc. So what are the options? I think I just want to change them to 180mph dials, but what happens about the mileometer which is currently in kms? Also I like indigo dials so if it worth doing this at the same time? Oh and any ideas about costs? Spencer
