Why?

I think its coz there is now no centre bearing and the prop now moves back and forth in and out of the gearbox spline so when itreaches the end of its length it hits the box or something.

Anyone else with a one piece prop have this noise i hope my prop isnt faulty or soemthing.

dont fitting these things mean you lose the facility of a sliding yoke joint then they have no give to allow for axel movement...just a thought;)

think its clonking from box end. Annoyed :(

The yoke still slides but i think it might be sliding too much and hitting the box or something.

mines ok, never made a clonking noise. are you sure its not the diff, you did say earlyer that it was knocking, putting a one piece in has just taken away any give that the two piece would have had. which means more stress on the diff itself. for it to slide enough for the prop to knock the gearbox, either the subframe is moving or the monocock is bending. neither of which i would have thought possible. look towards the diff bubby;)

the diff still knocks but now i get another different knock haha so now there are two types of donking.

there is a key in the gerarbox end of the prop, have you put it in the right way up, apparantly there are two ways it will fit. a right way and a wrong way. but IMO i still think its diff related. is there any play in the diff? i.e. you can move the prop slightly before the half shaft s turn

yeah lots of play in the diff but im sure its not that, il have to check out that key your talking about maybe i put it in wrong, i thought there was only one way it would go in

sort your diff out buddy, your not going to have any forgiveness with that one piece prop.

No, the TT one piece prop uses the standard prop ends.

If you had diff play previously, then I would expect a one piece to exaggerate the problem further.

best thing to do is get yourself an n/a diff lmao:slap:

Then his prop would'nt fit LOL. Should be able to get hold of a 2nd hand TT diff for a couple of hundred though.

Can i just say that the noise sounds like someone hitting a stave with a hammer.

Yeah i might get myself a diff then... anyone got one for sale :D

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh i dont wanna have to take out the bloody diff again and the bushings ggrrrrrr those things are fooking heavy. :(

thats all the fun of owning a modded car, especially one as fragile as a zed :smash:

These diffs are suppose to be indistructable.

everything has its limits, at std power they might last forever, but how many miles has our diff done ?

and what power are you running now ?

It doesnt take long for power and age to identify a weakness and exploit it im afraid :(

in your hands Jimmy nothing is indistructable!!! LOL

Thats soo true i once picked up a stone and it crumbled to bits.
