Anything is possible, but not realistic with the current engine/transmission layout.

I'd like the best of both worlds, and be able to pick and choose:)

you'd lose the rush of kicking the rear end out round corners... putting your foot down and smoking the wheels past people on the motorway :nono:

get yourself a skyline gtr for AWD fun.

Nissan made made 4x4 Z prototype but it was too expensive and never put into production. There is one in the Nissan museum in Japan though!

ugly thing

yeah,FUGLY....

The Z is a good lookin car(appart from the 'orrid rear side windows),but that one is plain ugly.

4x4 would be interesting mind u...

don't you like going sieways lol ;)

I love it, everyone watching in horror as your back end is almost overtaking your front, its alot of fun, but NOT when stupid people put fences in the way :wack:

The reason a 4wd was never built was due to design contraints in the body. Nissan wanted to keep the long, low raked bonnet and therefore has the engine sited low down in the bay. Adding a transfer box and other 4wd gubbins would have prevented the design we see today ever working.

...plus the downsides of the extra weight and drivetrain friction.......and proper sports cars are traditionally RWD.
