That's a performance/evasion mod - on full throttle oil is dumped out to reduce weight and improve acceleration and at the same time causes a pursuit vehicle to leave the road on a slick!

Duffman's car does a similar trick although his car dumps things in a special order depending on how long he accelerates for!!! Turbos, gearbox and finally engine and passengers.

 

Last i heard a white zed was spotted aimlessly rolling down a hill in dorset by a farmer who thought it a bit strange as it looked nothing like the usual land rover but was just as rusty!!!
