I'm not ording any :).

Just wondering if there are any of us in this country that fancies doing a cheaper than OEM splash guards for the rest of the forum as these things seem to be very rare these days.

Kinda been waiting for this to happen for a while.

Not sure why someone didn;t start making these sooner with the price of the originals in flimsy plastic.

I thought about it some 4 years ago when i lost my own. Only downside i could see was with so many bumpers now being aftermarket ones, they do not all sit forward the same distance, thats why some OEM engine covers are either missing cos they no longer fit or have bits of ally on to make them a bit deeper.

The end panels are okayish with new bumpers, it's generally the centre one.

Pretty easy to make an ally one though DIY style ;)

Sorry am referring to the front ones, dohhh

A good freind of mine has a enginers & machine shop if i had an origanal one i could use as a template and get him to give us a price i dare say £60-70 tops

Spoken to sussexstu i need to get some origanal plastic ones for a template

I need one too! Sure it would just be a case of getting an aluminum sheet and cutting it to the right shape...

That's only part of it. You'll need to get it "folded" into the right shape as well as some parts of the engine sit lower than the rest. Then there are the mounting holes which I have found to be different on some cars.

It is not a straight forward as you think - Smithy's response hits the nail on the head really. My Stainless steel supplier can do all this work but there would be too many variations to consider to make it financially viable.

If this does turn into a group buy guys then you need to get the permission of the TLO - Brian (znut).

thanks Pete...a lot of our members seem to think this place is a "free for all" regarding the supply of parts:rolleyes: guys ime all for group buys and the welfare of members but we or should i say i have to maintain a friendly ballance with what our trader friends can give us who pay to be able to trade here and also ive got to be sure the person who starts and runs the group buy is not in the habit of taking the money and giving it rabbit into the sunset never to be seen again...now ime not saying anyone here falls into this catagory but in future please run your plans past me first regarding group buys;)

Hi guys, I see you found my SS shields over here! I am the member on Twinturbo.net that makes these.

Nice to see word is getting out on them!

Nice forum you guys have.

Hi mate,

Very impressed with your shields.

Do they fit with after market bumpers and is it just the 1 piece you make or both front and back ?

Very nice craftsmanship :).

My appologies, this wasn't intended to be a group by thread, more of an appreciation thread for something that has not really been much.

Hey all i spoke to Spddracer who as i can see has just registered to the forums! He does have some Discounted prices for the actual product and Shipping to the UK for us, i will leave it to him to display what prices for the product and shipping as im just a middle man! Prices look good and seems a good start to a potential Group Buy if it turns into one! :D

From 6 lots to 12 lots there is $3 differance

  • 2 weeks later...

Installed mine almost 2 months ago. I'm very happy with the fit and finish. very lightweight indeed.

Spddracer is currently working on a similar one to replace the front splash guard.

or isit just the same as a mud flap :p

The undershield allows for smoother flow under the car = Reduced lift (aerodynamics), plus the built in vents suck hot air out of the engine bay as the air rushes past.

Without the tray, the passing air can be too turbulant for hot engine bay air to escape properly.

Thats the theory anyway.

Plus it stops road debris, water, mud, stones..etc entering engine bay
