Its been nearly three months with no zed, Z Tech still have it, fed up of driving around in a faded red 1.4 k reg Astra with no power steering and no poke, I so want it back as its my everyday car, will just have to be patient, it will be worth it in the end, I hope.

Know how you feel mate, I haven't had mine since Dec 2006 and was driving a Sierra Estate :( What's the hold up?

Mine was gone for 8 Months!!! And feck me, it was weird driving it again after that, like i'd never driven it before

I'm back to normal now and loving it :D Never again will i be parted with ANY car i own for anywhere close to that period of time! :)

I'd get it out of Ztech if you have a chance and get it over to Jimmer!!!

He's also got about 15 other zeds their, so I suppose he's got to keep everybody happy.

I did warn you fella before you took it there sorry to say that and sound harsh they told me 2 weeks and took over 2 months another thread I have will tell the rest of the story

See if you can get it back mate! If they've not done any work on then you're better off taking it away and to somewhere else.

I just cannot believe that any one would take their car to a garage, and then not see it for months !!! in some cases 9, and accept that it was OK. I am on my third Zed and THAT has never happend to me with any of them, I would not let it. Jimmer does a complete rebuild including getting all the machining done in a couple of weeks, and that is on a part-time basis.

When the turbo seal went on my car i lost my car for 4 days, was an extremely fast job by paulswz! I would never take my car to be left for weeks on end!

Hi,

I took my 280ZX in for a gearbox oil change yesterday morning....I was getting twitchy by lunchtime!

Walked round to the Garage and they had already done the job, so I took it away asap!

I never like leaving my Zed with anyone for very long!

Cheerz,

Jez.

The problem is that he bought my old engine which he has to remove, plus the fully modified engine that I bought had been taken out of another customers car and he is stripping it all down and replacing the necesary parts, so everything was there, plus he had to wait for the intercoolers and loom to arrive from the states, which is an add on job, he says it will be ready in 2 weeks, really hope so as im really missing it especially with this lovely weather we are having down here.

I would also be a bit concerned about the final cost, surely they have given you some idea of price when they started which after all this time is probably unrealistic.

Its cost a grand so far in labour, whick I gave when the car went in, with the add on jobs such as intercoolers and wiring loom, he wants an extra £500.

LOL Andy Duffs had mine for OVER 2 years.

I agree with the majority, anything over a week is taking the piss, unless agreed and explained before hand.

Must confess mate, it would have made greater sense for him to first strip/rebuild the engine that you bought, the ordered parts which generally take no more than a week, would then be there. After that you bring your Zed down, 1 engine out, 1 engine in, new coolers and loom and jobs a goodun in under a week ;)

Oh and he asked for money up front before work was even started ??

:( Dissapointing to hear. Its very likely all your old stuff was sold off by Ryan and his brother. I was up there just before Ryan sold the business, and was offered a Billet torque convertor (which I did'nt buy) along with a whole stack of other stock and aftermarket parts that he was selling for cash before Chris took over.

Steve - don't tell me you still don't have it sorted.

No mate still not sorted:(

But if i dont get it sorted soon i will be up there with a tow truck and transit van.

iv just got mine back not long ago after a year and 2 month, however it was written off and was fighting with the insurers for most of that time so cant really complain to much however when the work got started was probably in for about 2 month more than it should have been
