there are a lot of awsome interiors on here,

the only thing thats depressing me about my car, is the bloody Tweed!!!

im too poor and smelly to afford to give the car to an upholsterer, and pay large amounts of money.

seen a guide on here how to do the seats, (the other panels look easy-ish to do)

how many people have done the seats themselves tho?

or is it really an impossible thing to do?

im takling about getting a large sheet of the material, and doing it all.

Panels are easy to do if you use a stretchable material like vinyl. Leather will not stretch and needs to be sewn on in panels. I had mine done like that and it wasn't cheap. I don't like the stretched on vinyl look and chose not to go that route, but it's better than tweed.

You can buy leather seat skin kits as well as panel trim kits from Zcentre.

All depends on your budget really.

Few of mine.

awsome.

so you can get the vynil to wrap the panels, thaught so. think that part would be quite fun to do.

can you wrap the seats tho? with the stretchy material?

or does seats HAVE to be sown?

no idea when it comes to upholstering!

the panels are easy to do, im half way through mine at the minute, should be finished by the weekend, the seats on the other hand, i think they are a job for the professionals, i havent got a clue where to start with them, got quoted 500 in leatherette, or 1200 in leather.

Im only in Newport and would gladly help if you want to give it a go keep us busy over a couple of rainy weekends. Ive retrimmed panels on other cars but I do think seats are a different animal. There is someone I know in Crumlin who could do the seats but that means £££'s. How about buying a second hand set of leather seats and just re-trimming the panels to match or contrast?

Mike

You can have a look at mine if you want as you are just down the road, did mine with matcching material to the Cobra seats.

these look cool!

loads of different colours, and can mix and match colours.

price looks reasonable, compared to the Zcentre ones.

reasonable price but not proper leather, SMW had a guide on the seat retrim using the Zcentre kit, looked fairly straight forward if you have the tools and patience.

I personally don't like the leather/vinyl look on the doors and is trying to find some decent alcantara suede effect stuff like what the series 2 came with.

yer, the suede effect looks nice. Is it expensive??

[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I need to get some of the grey alcantara for my series 4.

If we can find a supplier maybe we could organise something to split and get the costs down?

thanks guys.

can anyone tell me roughly how much material you need for all the panels?

looks like can get some nice material, letherette, comis per square meter.

1 square meter be enough to cover all the panels? (glove box, door cards, etc)

or 2 square meters?

i got the leatherete kit from ebay for the door cards ect like the fact that the colour matches my car but will really only be a temp measure till i can afford to get it done in leather from somewhere just doesnt have the look of the likes of si's car but it will do for now

thanks m8 and what can i say apart from WOW on the ice install i thought u was gona say a role cage and seat removal for weight loss or somthin wouldnt even wanna enquire on wattage lol although i do intend to get a decent sub to match the amp removed from my old beamer

Edited by ck300z

its the 3rd version of it has took the longest lol but worth it. the guy that does the kits is supplying me with the same material as i got for the doors to retrim it. it probably is alot louder than i need it you can drive around with it at 1 on the volume an still hear it fine but then i turn it up to 27 and there is no point in even trying to talk to any1 sitting next to you even makes my gf feel sick lol

un sure on my amp though dont know if i should keep my 600w or go for bigger dont want to go through the sound deadaning process if can help it and remember when i had this amp and matching sub in the bm use to produce some right rattles!!!

any probs with that ur end?

yeah had loads of them im down to only a couple now was just a case of going through them one by one and sorting it, got one i cant find on the rear drivers side and one just behind the drivers seat but sorted the rest of them. neighbours complain about the noise though as the only way to get them to rattle is having it up loud

lol my neighbour moans know about my exhausts and there only standard ! little does he know there on my mod list :-) he's a sound guy really though just ur typical rover p6 man lol u done many other mods ?
