How much cash has people spent on their z's including purchase of vehicle, parts, mods and labour?

 

 

I was adding everything up the other day, I got quite worried as I havn't had the car a year yet, it comes in a shade over 11k. It keeps going through my head that the money spent on the car could have been a deposit on a house, but then I think *****cks, we only live once, and we work god dam hard, so why not work and enjoy the benifits of our money being earned.

 

Vehicle purchase £6000

New forged engine £2750

intercoolers £200

egr bypass and water plennum bypass £250

Wiring loom £200

Labour £1500

Gauges £50

pcv's £80

 

Probably forgotten something but iv'e seen peoples cars on this forum, wouldnt like to think how much others have spent.:eek:

well mine so far

car - £8000

body repair and respray - £2500

engine rebuild + new autobox - £3300

ice - £2000

new lower arms, track rods + ends, tension rods(+fitting) - £350

new gauges + pod + other interior bits £200

tires - £450

im sure there is more lol but had it nearly 3 years now and thats £16800

I don't keep notes on what I've spent. I did. But I don't really care now. If I did I think I'd cry, but hell, I gotta spend my money on something.

its easy to spend a little money over a lot of years.

In the 6 years I've owned it and starting from a completey standard car.

 

not including petrol, tax, mot, insurance.. I'm up to around £55 - £60k.

Bloody hell mate, still, id rather spend it on the z than go out and buy a 60k brand new car. Mind you, the new skyline tics all the right box's.

If I could turn back time, I wouldn;t have bought it and instead stuck all the money in a savings account and bought a brand new car, then payed off my mortgage with what ever was left over :).

 

Don't get me wrong, I love the car and don't begrudge speding money on it, it just adds up and up and then there's a point of no return where you then have to spend money on it to get it to how you want it.

I think I have passed that point now myself.

In the real world spending £5K on an engine to go in a car worth £2K would put you in the looney bin.:shock: But this isnt the real world is it?? :nono:Its the world of Zeds :rolleyes:
