Just been chatting to another zed owner and have worked out this.

This is based on my zed,

Sunny days.

whether driving along country roads, or messing about and using lots of fuel or stuck in poxy traffic, the zed is great. Dosent miss a beat. All is good.

However.!!!

Dull usual days were are having and getting soaked, as its constantly p**sing it down

The zed coughs and splutters and drives pants. You think that something has gone wrong, and drive all worried that it will go bang, and can only see your bank account losing more digits.

Then the next day when its fine and dry and the car is back to being a total hooligan.

I keep checking the maf and have found slight moisture around it, i havent got splash guards on the zed at the mo, as have been replacing front bumper.

Sure these engines suck it up like crazy, but surely it cant make that much difference.

Anyone else??????????

yep - I find that :D causes constant arguing with him in doors as he is determined something is wrong with the car - and I tell him its coz its wet... still doesnt believe me - maybe he'll read this :tongue:

Mines drives perfect in all weathers:tongue: mind you dont really drive it that much in the rain so maybe I just dont notice

i never notice a difference... but i sot shoe it in the rain, but as for caughing and spluttering... nope nothing

Mine used to be bad in the rain and maf's used to fail.

But I have made a splash cover for the filter, got new injector and coil pack plugs

Drives a treat in the rain, just sideways most the time :)

I dunno what everybody else is using, but i'm using a Blitz SUS induction kit that i bought from zcentre (so far from cheap, lol) and i don't have that problem at all! :nana2: And i run my car come rain or shine! :D

it must be something to do with the position of the induction filter? Right at the front isnt the best place for it in our rather wet and windy climate.

mine has never missed a beat diven it all winter rain and show . I also have the Blitz air filter????

Great minds and all that....... :D

im a toff... i dont drive it in the rain :o

Hmmmmmmmm, "Funky" Joely:x::rofl:

Spash gaurds are important, and not just the undershields but there is a spash shield built into the stock bumper half way up right under where the standard airbox would be....it usually gets ripped out when replacing the standard airbox for an Induction kit...and there lies the rainy day problem. If its missing....fit some sort of replacement.

I had new sensors fitted and now the worst I get is belt squeel if some water manages to drip through the bonnet vent onto it.

As above, all good since fitted my sheild that took 5min to make from some ally

Same thing here, SO annoying...

Your air filter is getting soaking wet in your Z, half a plant pot fitted around it will sort it...
