Just trying to think of another car with frameless doors but still has a b pillar joined to the door. i cant think of any did nissan steal this design from another manufacture or is there own.Can anyone think of one.:cool:

Was it not only put in for somewhere to hold the front seatbelts??

I dont see why as later z32s have the seat belts on the pillars .

save reproduction costs once the belt was moved?.. and as you say.. its quite a unique design so maybe they liked it?

in the normal place the same as any other car LOL

I wish they had ditched them when they moved the belts to the Pillars. I definatly prefer a pillar-less door. My Celica is pillarless, as is the 200sx

All UK Zed's have the belts on the B-pillars instead of the doors, and the same for all imports from late 92 onwards.

ditto, really lets the car down if you have doors open with windows down

i find it they get in the way as well, if your getting in and out of the car, you cant sort of lean over the door as you get out with the window down, you have to walk around it.

 

Very annoying... my old 323i (Butter wouldnt melt) had pillarless doors, (as to scoobies actually much to my suprise!) and it was awesome :)

Nissan Possibly kept the pillars for better strength due to the targa tops

I love them Lamborghini Miuras jay kays got one very nice.:)
