Does anyone know what road tax we will be paying next year?

It's going to be based on CO2 emissions and will be up to £440 per year!

What are the emission figures for an N/A and a TT?

I've looked at a few web sites and none of them mention that the new rates only apply to post 2001!

What website will give me ALL the correct information?

yet!! give it another 6 months and the Labour government will realise theres some more money to be screwed out of us.

atm we are paying 1,340euro(1,010stg) per year. the new tax rates as and from july 1st 2008 for cars imported after this date based on emmissions a 300zx will be 2,000euro(1,500stg) per year road tax. :headvswal eu f..king tree huggers.

I`ve been wondering about all this for a while now . What about imports ? Mine was registered in 2002 . Is that a big enough loop-hole for the fat , grubby hand of government to squeeze through and rob us ?

Stick yer tongue out and ya get a fork in it !

as far as Im aware its on Manufactured date, rather than registered date.

The Road tax increases are nothing though in comparison to the current fuel price increases though.

6 months ago there was uproar about it hitting £1 per litre. Its now £1.23p per litre at my local garage for unleaded, and it seems to rise 1p every week or so. Thats an increase of £400 a year on my fairly economical daily driver in the last 6 months alone. !

If we join the Euro, we'll be paying that amount too as I believe those figures are dictated by Brussels. It doesn't all go into the coffers at the irish treasury. It's only a matter of time. With the current economic downturn, the UK government will once again consider joining the Euro.

I think it's ridiculous penalising owners of cars that old. Not only do the numbers of cars over 15 years old equate to about 10% of the volumes in the UK, but those that old tend to be cherished cars that only really get used for special occasions or summer use.

Not quite right Trish, the new road tax rates will only relate to imports first registered on or after 1 January 2008, older cars will be taxed at old rates.

However the VRT has gone up, from 30% to 36%

i thought the same dave, but simi are saying the opposite, richard from tralee who works in a nissan garage said they were informed the same, and if its not that way it will be after the budget in dec, either way its a lotta dosh

If its an import registered after 2006 then it will be taxed by the co2 emissions, not sure if they have a figure for the z32 though, maybe not, probably automatically goes to the max category knowing the twats in power now.

I've been sug these past months about having a 1994 car...............

Then I just checked my V5 and the date of 1st reg in UK is August 2006 Yikes!!!

Does this mean I'm in line for a shafting or a Micra?

DVLA Veh Enquiry page says of my vehicle - C02 Emissions - no data available.

I was going to say, I don't think there are records for imported cars, especially of that age.

It'll be based on manufacture date or engine size.
