Aircon Recommendations in the North West

Out in the Z today, all of a sudden I hear a hissing sound then the air from the aircon gets quite warm. Turns out I have a leak somewhere frown.gif I took the Z to an aircon "specialist", who tell me I have a leak, but cannot trace it because the pipe is down the side of the engine. In the process they remove the intake/boost pipes from the passenger side to try to locate the leak.

To compound things, they never replaced the one leading to the throttle body properly, so I had no boost driving home frown.gif while I had the pipe off I cleaned the throttle bodies, temp sensor, TPS etc- now the Z runs like new smile.gif

Anyway, I digress- does anyone know a place competent enough to sort my aircon in the North West?

Steve in Ellesmere Port - 0151 357 3731 can probably do it, but may not want the work.

Prestige and Performance in St Helens. Ask for Kevin. They do work on quite a few Z'z and also worked on my Lotus Carlton's air con. Did a good job but not cheap.

Dave, it sounds like the pressure relief valve has 'popped off' - I'll try and find where it is on the car so you can point them in the right direction wink.gif

I was gonna get mine refilled soon and found this place. http://www.airconco.net

Dont know if they can help.

Anyways if any one is intersted I was quoted £68+VAT for a refill which includes safely removing the gas in now and replacing it with RS-24.

Here are the details of what they check for too.

Stuart

Hehehe I went there last year Stuart. I can vouch for the fact that they know what they are doing and provide a friendly and quick service.

Anfortunately though I decided to test the AC when it was 34 deg outside, with the car stationary. Basically they had told me that the electric fan wasn't coming on at the correct time to cool the aircon rad down - I thought I knew better.... Well I didn't and lost £75 worth of gas due to the pressure increasing too high and blowing the pressure relief valve off... So 3 days later I have dumped all those lovely fresh gases into the atmosphere for the wildlife to get high on... Was pissed off at the time but now just think its funny biggrin.gif

Stories of the good times eh.... biggrin.gif
