I would like to know just what has happened to our club?? There was one time when we had regular meets and not too bad a turn out at events but lately it as all gone Pete Tong. I love my car and I really like meeting other people with the same passion for the 300zx but it has all thinned out. I pay my subs just like many others but I feel that we are not getting our monies worth. We should be showing off the 300zx at all the national meets and I believe the reason we are not is down to our clubs meet organisers. Dont get me wrong im not trying to have a go at anyone, i'm sure we all have busy lives one way and another but I do believe that if someone has been chosen to look after the meets and events for all the club members to attend then something should be done. When I went to santa pod this weekend the turn out was poor considering the amout of members there are between the 300zx.co.uk and the zclub, which i must say thanks to as they where the only ones that did sort something for us 300 guys. So come on lets get things sorted so we can feel like a club. If nothing gets sorted soon then really I cannot see any reason to carry on paying to be a member because im not a paying member of the zclub but still I was able to obtain a pass for my car, If needed i will be willing to put myself forward along with slick pete and who knows maybe even bantam bunny to help sort things.

to be brutefully truthfull mate people have lives and with the pressures of mon-fri life going to a car meet to talk cars after being on here all week is not on the top of peoples agendas...wife,kids.family and doing odd jobs around the house takes some doin to fit into 2 days that i get off aweek and to go to a meet i have to plan about 3-4 weeks ahead to get the spare time:( I was involved in car clubs over 20 years ago when the club consisted of a meet every 4th sunday in a month..period. at least we have this place to still comunicate and talk cars for the ones who cant make the meets...without prejudice also brian

I feel for what you are saying. I have seen a lack of events in the south compared to what it was 3 years ago when I was last active. However saying that Mark (Topless) has organised what looks to be a very promising day.

Personally I can't agree with the "not getting our monies worth" bit. Purely for the information I get from this site. I feel it's worth allot more than £20. I guess for more experiened owners who know most of it already it may seem like it has nothing to offer.

I always arrange meets in my area but I can not get many people to turn up! You can take a horse to water but you can not make it drink. I will continue to arrange the meets as if one turns up its been a success and a get together with people I now class as friends

I also will not go to Santa Pod and the large shows because if Im truthful Im just not a fan of them. I find them overly expensive, poor facilities and nothing there I particularily want to travel the distance to see!

Yes as a club we need an appearnace at events etc but not all members are fans of shows etc.

We are having 2 National meets this year, which the club is ploughing money into, things like santa pod, are for REO's to organize, they are welcome to approach the committee for funds for tickets etc.

we are also in the process of upping our profile by having some new banners made, and each REO will receive one. I appreciate that in certain regions the monthly meets aren't great, but I can hardy give the REO's a kicking over it, because as stated...they are volunteers, yet in other area's, we have some very good meets going on.

personally im having to work harder just to pay for mon to fri life , the frills i used to enjoy are gonna be few and far between now , god love the petrol companies and gordon brown

perhaps there has been a lack of comunication / misunderstanding??

back when i joined the club japshow, japshow finale, japfest etc were considered national events. maybe the regonal organiser didn't realise they were now regional events???

perhaps if the regonal organiser for whatever region santa pod is in doesn't have the time to organise both japshows then we could take ceejay up on his offer to organise the next japshow?????

i went to japshow finale last year and must have seen over 30 300zx there but only actually talked to 2 other owners as they were spread all over site (i think this was because there was no 300zx stand)

this was one of the (two) main reasons i didnt go to japshow this year; if there had been a 300zx stand and i could have got out of work i would definately been there

again no predjudice, no having a go at anyone, just suggesting ways i think we could make things even better

znut ( Brian ) fair enough, I agree that some may not manage to fit everything in but I too have kids, 4 actually and one on the way any second now plus I work I have to 2 jobs and just about work 24/7 as anyone that knows me will confirm but I still try to find time to make an appearance for the club meets to show solidarity to the club, but thank you for your comment, SMW1 you say that you cannot agree with me about the money side as for all the advice you have received, Can I point out that you do not have to be a member to get that information mate. Saz I know you try hard to sort events and you know yourself I have travelled up from Nottingham to participate in your events too. mrogers, fuel really has only been an issue just recently and this problem stems back a few years mate. Again please don't read this wrong as im not trying to be argumentative or sarcastic to anyone I just have a bee in my bonnet thats been buzzing for quite a while, so needed to get things off my chest :) :)

Im glad to see that I am not the only one that see's this ianl. Thanks for your support in this issue, Anyway I do hope thats this stays friendly as im only ststing my personnal point of view

I certainly see your point and its a shame that members are missing out on the larger events.

If its down to the REOs God help Nickz32 who covers Northampton as he would have all the Santa Pod Events, Silverstone etc.

Maybe members could get involved arranging the lists etc, where the REO is unable to attend any event?

One possible idea might be to have a National Event Calndar with lists of interested people and if the REO is not available for that meet another member could oversee the lists etc?

I'll help as much as i can matey, after the hassle i had at the big shows last year i don't think i'll be attending any this year or any years tbh

However i will try and help organise the monthly midlands meets if you and pete are willing to help

Northampton is more midlands... Nick is South Central :)

I'd help if needed... all you gotta do is shout :)

I know what your saying Chris, long gone are the days of Chunkle,Mickey etc.

You know my situation but if I still had a Z then I would be attending more meets,at the mo' I rely on Boldy (cheers) but still attend if he does.

Quite frankly a lot of peeps on here can't justify paying out for 'jaunts' as has been said, I reckon it will get better in time mate!;)

Everyone uses Chunk as a bench mark, for when the club had good national meets, chunk was good for a few reasons that people overlook.

1. He lived in a central location.

2. He didn't work, coz he's on disability, so he had loads of time to arrange meets & stands.

3. He doesn't have kids/married etc.

Think you got the wrong end of that Kim!-not using him as a benchmark, just that they were 'the good times' ;)-don't matter who organised em'

that's a bit off the mark kim - i know chunk and the club fell out but he was a very proactive member for a while and my 2p was thta he he did a good job

It's deffo a time commitment thing with me here. Been trying to organize my first home for the last 6 months. It's been a bit of a 'mare tbh. When I get it I'll have to spend a few weekends sorting it out. I did pop down to Japshow at the weekend but couldn't afford to fuel the zed what with the house and all. I can go local trips in it but couldn't afford a full tank just for an outing.

You misunderstand me alex, I aren't slagging Rich off, He did an excellent job as NEO regardless of what happened in the end, what I meant was, he was located in a far more central area's to arrange more club meets at santa pod etc, and he had more time on his hands and less responsibility.

Thats becouse most of the zeds that did turn up i invited onto the banzaiclub stand as we were very well located right in the 1/8mile point at the side of the track. Things like santa pod show that do ave quite a few good meets a year for the jap car owner shud be on the list of major events every year becouse to be honest there is a lot more goin on there than you ever have at things like J.A.E.

And it shudnt fall on the REO to arrange the large meet but on the event organisers as a whole.

As for when people say that they jus either dont have the time or money to turn up, i appreiciate that doesnt help, but it seems that other clubs turn up by the dozens at a lot of the events. only 3years ago we had around 100 cars turn up to J.A.E.

So ask yourself (mods) where were all them members last year at the meets????????or this year for that matter.

I must say that its prob down to everyone, i have suggested a few things in the south east section and tbh i got more response from my dog ! its down to the regional organiser and the people in the region. I am always happy to pay my subs and think this site is great but its down to everybody. I must say that the rolling road day is great, but apart from that there are sod all suggestions from everybody in the South East. (sorry for the spelling). Not having a dig at anyone in general but come on peeps its a team effort !

i think alot of the new members join not for the meets, but for the help and advice that this place offers, i joined for the advice and also the readly available parts when things go wrong, i will prob attend a meet maybe in the future but am certainly not going to change or make plans so i can do so, its just not a priority.

This year we are putting alot of time and money into JAE, and look how many names we have, not very many.

it is a struggle to motivate people to meets these days, and you can only understand how frustrating it is to try arrange a meet, with very little response, and you do NOT need to be an REO to arrange a meet, if you have something going on in your area, then go for it.

All the big national events are always in the same area of the UK though. Sure we have Japfest, but that's more or less a regional event.

its become more and more an internet forum and less and less a car club. i used to have some fellas on ehre I would bust a gut to get to meet up with. Dont take this wrong guys as I am sure teh feeling is mutual but why would you want to go 100's of miles to meet people you dont know.

Whin Rich was NEO things at teh club where a laugh, not that he caused it, he was just part of it. It was a great time on here, it still is, its just different. In fact this is the calmest ive known the forum for ages, no ones on a rampage, there are no nut jobs on power trips or committee bashers. We just aint meeting up, thats not the end of the world is it?

SMW1 you say that you cannot agree with me about the money side as for all the advice you have received, Can I point out that you do not have to be a member to get that information mate.

Although that may be true. There is an unwritten law were as if you are only register and keep asking questions etc it's only so long before the experts stop answering. If you are subscribed I feel the help you recieve is much more than that of a register member.

Maybe that's just my gut instinct, but if I see the same person constantly asking with a post count of 210 and still a registered member, sometimes I'm a little hesitant or will just answer in less detail.
