Stansted to Le Mans... 1 tank of fuel..!..

Featured Replies

We used about £120 in fuel, but de-toured to visit my brother so did about 500miles on that with a car full, not too bad really:hyper:And we averaged 100 mph with a few naughty blasts... Excellent weekend tho:cool:

stansted to dover is about 100 miles... bolougne to le mans is about 250 miles. so with a 72 litre fuel tank ??? (16 gallons) @ 350 miles, thats just under 22mpg

:hyper:

Thats not bad at all mate :)

no way !!!! lol i used 2 and a half from Streatham SW16 to Le Mans (was going quite quick though

sw16 to dover (assuming you went that route?) is 75 miles... so thats a total (from bolougne) of 325 miles.

with my 72 litre capacity calculations which would need confirming... 2 and a half tanks would be 45 gallons...

therefore you averaged just over 7mpg  !!!

I think when I came back last time we stopped at Dover for fuel, not because I desperately needed it, but some of the others did. I think I could have made it in one hit, didn't realise it was quite so far on the French side though. I did go though the tunnel, dunno how much difference that makes.

In a couple of weeks I'll be going down to the Dordogne, hoping to do that in one hit in the Beamer, ~625 miles !!

Didn't know the AA would take you that far

Nice one Joel. I didn't make it to blackpool on one tank, just over 200 miles.

Darrell

i got from Brum - Ayr (scotland) total of 350miles almost bang on using 1tank and still had i reckong another 20miles to spare at least with play! it can be done! Zed loves the motorway cruising :)

Totally agree about thye Zed loving the motorway.... cruising at 90 to 100 mph is best for quickness of journey vs fuel economy.

I can do 1/4 tank pootling round on a weekend and a 1'4 tank on a very fast drive from Aylesbury to Zedworld in Tamworth.... just shows the difference. Fuel ecomomy drops off rapidly at over 110 mpg

Muhahaha!

yes i was in the zed  she was loaded up to the brim with 1 passenger and we cruised at about 70/80mph with the odd playtime session!

Yeh wait to you 555 it then youll be crying

I used about 2 1/2 tanks, and a clutch!

What ever you do, DO NOT BREAK DOWN IN EUROPE!!!!!
