Can any body recommend a place where i might get this done, locally if poss [bristol Area] its not that bad but has got slightly nosier in the last 5yrs

Yes, though, cheaper than having a recon. Circa £1,000 from the US before you add on shipping/duty/VAT

IIRC when importing allow @ 21% on top so £1000 parts would be £1210 with HMRC taking their slice

I'd see what MJP could do. Whilst prices for gearboxes in the US look favourable, landed costs might not be.
