Is it possible to take the subframe and other parts from an electric (material) passenger seat and fit them to a manual leather passenger seat to make this fully electric?

I looked in my manual and don't think it can be done but thought i'd run it past you guys first before i give up lol.

Don't know if it helps but i have a motorised leather passenger seat as standard.

My old UK z had both electric seats too, i was talking to BAZZ earlier and he has a manual passenger seat but the cloth seats he is removing from his breaker are both electric so he wanted to take the electrics out of the cloth one and fit to his leather but after i checked my book i don't think its possible.

Had to edit that as i said he had a manual electric seat doh!!!

Mine has eletric both, series 2 material, cant remember what it is called. V something

yes, uk and jap both became electric in late 92/early 93.

Easiest way is just to get hold of a electric passenger seat, they are out there, popping up on ebay or check with the Zed breakers. You then just need to feed it a decent power and earth.

To retrofit the motors to a manual seat would be near on impossible.

Thank you dave. kool though i think its rare here in australia to find the electric passenger seat. but i differently try and fine one.

Looks like i will have to stick with a manual passenger seat then as cant be bothered retrimming the electric seats to match the rest of my interior!
