i have a 300zx manual tt lwb and i have noticed the exhaust is starting to blow. i thought i may as well go all out n do a full exhaust system and maybe even turbo dwnpipes but few questions forst....

1. what parts would i need to do it properly? and is there any special make that i should go for?

2. what sort of gains i power should i expect?

3. whats it gunna cost labourwise? (i live round the corner frm c and s woods)

How many miles are on the turbos? Make sure you replace the PCV valves and hoses if decatting to give the turbo rear seals the best possible chance of living...

the car (and turbos) have covered about 70k. iv heard rumours that if you decat then the turbos pop. why is this? lack of back pressure? how much am i looking for these pcv valves and hosing?

To be honest you could be asking for trouble at that mileage :( The decrease in back pressure causes the turbo rear seals to leak. Changing the PCV valves and hoses can help decrease the pressure differential and prolong turbo life.

well, whatever happens i deffo need a new exhaust system as mine is blowing like hell. what you recommend? dont want it too loud just a nice note and was hopin got get a bit of gain in power. then maybe get a rollin road tune? you recommend remaps?

mongoose . blue flame are quite popular and have a nice deep burble on tick over and a real roar on full chat , look great too ......but before you go make sure you can slow

 

get the brakes upgraded priority number 1 or you will regret it , they are heavy very fast cars , hence they harness a lot of kinetic energy when moving and trying to stop the considerable mass of an on full throttle zed with the tea plate sized brakes and old probably half siezed calipers id as dangerous as painting your weddiing tackle orange and dipping it in a pond of piranaha
