Got a strange noise under acceleration, its a kind of creak or mettalic rattle and is getting more constant and now i can hear it when not booting it. Could it be a turbo part?? or something else come loose? Got no smoke at all from the Zorst.

hiya James, could be your AIV's need draining, mines been doing it for ages

james. you sure its not all the cans of empty stella woz & duffer tied to your arse end

Sounds like it could be detonation to me. Does it sound like a metallic rattling that is more audible the more you floor it ? Not unlike some little screws being rattled in a Tin ?

what does it mean if it is detonation?

detonation means you should start saving up for a £4000 uprated rebuild :D

if its a metallic rattle at low revs i doubt its det...... but if you say u hear it when booting it then id stay off the throttle till you can be sure... trust me and others when we say it will make mince meat of your rings in a couple minutes.

I had a similar noise with my Sylvia some years ago, it didn't sound like det at all. It turned out to be the exhaust manifold was loose as half the studs had been striped and I could hear the turbo spinning, quite loud it was too

Could be that but on the other had could be det, difficult to say really withou hearing it

duffers plugged mine into a conzult last month and he got code 34 but he sorted it, the rattle i hear is on tick over and also when i boot it and he's told me that i should either remove the AIV's or just drain them but i'm going to see him soon anyway soo i'll get it in writing :D

i'm gonna eventually, lol and the egr valve and anyother useless piece of equipment

the AIVs are more of a gurgle than a rattle and are only audible at idle. as above, if its rattling at tick-over then its unlikely to be detonation. could be a loose fannymold?

thanks for your answers guys, its a wierd one, could be det, as when it was doing it today without too much throttle it was bloody hot. It's going on the conzult tomorrow so we'll have to see what it says :(

if it was detting bad then the dett sensor should of put you into safe mode(reduced boost) and will show up as a stored fault but it phisically clears after every fresh start but will still be on the fault code;)

I have put a boost controller on there now and un-plugged the stock solenoids so it won't go into safety will it??

Was in safety boost before i raised the boost but it wasn't the det sensor it was wiring to the boost solenoids

It wasn't really there in safety boost, and im using 95 octane as i always do. Time to change??

Mine goes into safety boost every time I put 95 in it, never use it unless the petrol station aint got super and I have run out,lol...P.S good to meet you if I aint already said, lol. Had a laugh:duffer:

well i've just got off the phone to the duffmeister and he has assured me that mine aint detonation, its been doing it for 3 years and it aint blown up yet so it looks like its time to remove the AIV's, phew :D
